  9. GROUNDS • Lower Garden Acres, Longmont • Managed by Manoj Gangwar • Deal with Season Ball • Ground is shared between Tennis Cricket League and Season Ball (FRCC, CCCC). • Every weekend Tennis Cricket gets one day of the weekend and Season Ball gets the other day. • Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays are already booked as practice days. • Maximum matches are generally scheduled here

  10. Country Field Park, Erie: • Managed by Manoj Gangwar. • Generally used as substitute for Longmont and Cornerstone Park (Littleton) • Very strict on time restrictions since it is located in the middle of a housing complex.

  11. Cornerstone Park, Littleton: • Managed by LCC (Season Ball) • LCC is generally the main Point of Contact if tennis ball needs to schedule games there. • Very expensive as compared to any other grounds. • Very less availability as compared to other grounds in Colorado. • Practice is a complete no-no at this time. If any of the teams want to practise they need to contact LCC.

  12. Green Valley Ranch, Denver: • Managed by Manoj • There is no concrete laid out. • Nice green grass • Expect teams to at least show up at the ground and do ground practice.

  13. City Park, Sidney, NE • Managed by Sidney Smashers • Nicely laid out pitch • Manage by Sidney Smashers • If any team wants to travel Sidney, please let scheduler know.

  14. Memorial Park, Colorado Springs: • Managed by CSCC (Season Ball) • CSCC is generally the main Point of Contact if tennis ball needs to schedule games there. • Boltz and Lincoln, Fort Collins: • Managed by FCCC (Season Ball) • Very expensive • Not a very supportive FCCC management. • Have scheduled one Tennis Ball games there last season.

  15. SCHEDULING - MATCHES • Worked around Season Ball Dates. Prefer people choose which format they want to play. • Flexibility is important but there will be a limit to that. Cannot be too flexible with 20 teams. It will become a mess!!! • Travelling is a given. Cannot expect all matches to be on home grounds and on the day and time of your preference. Scheduler will make sure excessive traveling is avoided. • There are no home grounds in reality. If Denver area team wants to be in Northern part , they can send email to scheduler and vise-versa.

  16. SCHEDULING – MATCHES(Cont…) • General Issues while Scheduling: • Cornerstone Park: • If Denver based games cannot be scheduled in Cornerstone we move them to Erie or Memorial Park (as per where the opposing team is from). • We try to get most of the local teams to play in Cornerstone Park though although not guaranteed. • We try to avoid teams from Springs to travel to Longmont or Fort Collins. • We try to avoid teams from Fort Collins and Longmont to travel to Springs.

  17. Re-scheduling: • Last Season: • if matches were cancelled due to weather conditions. • All the teams affected by the change in schedule will be contacted. If even 1 team is not able to play, then no re-schedule will be done. • Team who needs a reschedule will need to contact the scheduler. Scheduler will work out the options and let the teams know if re-scheduling is possible. • Season 2014: • Proposal : Initial schedule will be made with keep in mind season ball dates and preference given. After that no change due to season ball clash. • Final goal is to have one bound schedule and avoid any re-scheduling. • Sometimes, it cannot be avoided.

  18. New rules added last season • Do not give LBW - If the batsman deliberately avoids getting bowled by using his body to block the ball from hitting the stumps, then umpire should give him a warning. • Byes and Leg Byes will be allowed during all the game. No runs should be allowed if the batsman does not offer a shot. • Batsman playing with a runner –Batsman can be provided a runner in case the injury has been sustained on the field, during the play, which hinders his running ability, by the umpire, with the consent of the opposite team’s captain. If he was injured while fielding he cannot bat for the same number of overs he did not field. If the batsman carries the injury to the game then a runner cannot be provided. • Super sub & 13th man rule - Each team can use 12 players, but only 11 players can bat, bowl or field at a given point of time. Super sub (12th player) needs to be declared whenever used in the game. He can bat and bowl. A fielding change (Sub or Super Sub) can be done by the fielding captain after informing the umpire and doesn’t necessarily need the injury clause to be in effect nor does he need to inform the other captain. However, the player coming in to the field cannot bat or bowl for the same no. of overs he was sitting outside. For example if a bowler is tired and decided to sit out after 6th over of the innings for 4 overs, then although he is back in the 11th over, he cannot bowl till 15th over. • Wide Ball / Dead Ball Follow the lines marked on both sides. When ball is pitched on the edge or outside the pitch - →If the ball is pitched outside/ on edge of the pitch and comes back in within the lines marked for wide, declare that ball a dead ball. →If the ball is pitched outside / on edge the pitch and remains outside the lines marked for wide, declare that ball a wide ball.

  19. Last Season • Final Rule Agreed upon for Late Arrival of teams 2013 : At least 7 players required to start a game. • → 0 to 15 minutes late: No action taken/ grace time. • → 15 to 30 minutes: 2 overs will be cut for the team arriving late during their batting innings. • → If both teams arrive between 15 and 30 minutes, 2 overs are cut for both teams. • → 30 minutes and over: Walkover given to the other team, If both teams arrive late, match stands cancelled with no rescheduling and 0 points for both teams.

  20. (Cont….) • Umpiring: • Final Rule Agreed upon for Late Arrival of Umpires 2012: • Umpires being late by 15 min and more will cost your team 0.25 / 0.5 points). Also, Team who do not send umpires will pay $40 as fine.

  21. Issues from Last Season(Cont….) • Discipline • Scorecard uploads • Umpires not sent • Sledging • DC vs Warriors (Umpiring – VCC) • VCC vs Syntel (Umpiring – CC) • RW VS Warriors (Umpiring – Buffs) • Match delay due to coin not available!!! • VCC vs DC (Umpiring – SCC) 13th man rule

  22. Proposals late 1. Must declare captain before season and before match 2. Advance deposit $100. 3.

  23. Concerns/ suggestions from teams 1. Abolish leg bye. because there is no LBW. ??? 2. For schedule..Please put umpires from North for South games and vise-versa.???? 3. The local team in springs need to send umpires for match whether they make it to next round or not. Last year warriors did not send umpires for later games citing players not available, this is not acceptable since we cannot find alternatives. 4. Scorecards not uploaded by teams who don't make it to next round. 5. The penalties and suspensions which were given to teams and players, hoping that they are generalized and follow the rule book. 6. Request to keep more games for T16. 7. Rescheduling should be allowed only Once or twice for any team. Please keep a limit on this. If more than that there are teams who are taking liberty to get reschedule at any time. 8. Issue with Umpiring. Umpires should give their decision soon with out interacting with the players on other side. 9. If the game is cancelled, postponed or delayed we need to have committed members calling Captains and notify about the status of the game. 10. Best Batsmen, Best Bowler, Best All-rounder should be considered for the players who are playing in regular games but not by Quarters, Semis and Finals.

  24. Cont… • 11. Punishment / penalties. I think there should be a group of 6 individuals who are not on the board who should form a penalties jury with 2 alternate members who will on a conf call listen to the issues and decide on the actual punishment / penalties. 2 alternates will be used if the other members are not available or if they are involved with the offending team in any way. • 12. During rescheduling of games due to weather conditions the teams should be ready to play the next available weekend at the next available ground. Last year we had teams who mutually agreed to push the entire game 2 weeks away causing the entire tournament to move a few weeks and thus causing problems to other teams. • 13. Punishment and Penalties need to spelled out in the rule book. Talking to guys about previous years fines, people are confused about fines/penalties. • 14. Only one season ball team preference, teams need to provide this information before the schedule comes out. • 15. What do we do for teams not sending umpires (after they are knocked out)

  25. FEES • T16 2012: $250 / Team • T20 2012: $300 / Team (subject to change if Denver Ground approved)

  26. Misc • 1. Job Opportunity – Please send job openings to President. • President to share with email group. • 2. Ground Cleaning – Please do not litter on the ground. • - Ensure to make it clean. • 3.
