  2. HUMAN RELATIONS COMMITTEE General objectives: Takes care of the associative aspect of the CJS (motivation, implication, member satisfaction). General mandates: Does internal management and general planning of CJS activities; Organizes the Official Opening; Manages member contracts; Takes care of new members; Organizes social activities; Informs the Board of Directors of its activities.

  3. Tasks to complete (more or less in chronological order) Before the official opening: 1. The committee must appropriate its mandate and know the tasks that it must complete. 2. Develop a planning tool for general CJS activities and inform other members (Example: Giant calendar with dates of Board of Directors’ meetings, committee meetings, etc.). 3. Proposes a management system for volunteer hours (schedule, postings, workbook) and evaluates the number of hours of volunteer management required by each member. 4. Suggests a list of tasks to complete during volunteer management hours (if necessary). 5. Proposes a system for managing contracts, the order in which cooperators will work, and how to record information.

  4. 6. Foresees an organizing system for service requests, contract estimates, service contracts, evaluations, etc. 7. Foresees a functioning method for transmitting messages and information. 8. Makes a list of members’ telephone numbers. 9. Plans the organization of the Official Opening and proposes to the other members a detailed schedule including deadlines and sharing of tasks (plan of action). 10.Proposes a contract for members of the Board of Governors. During the official opening: 1. Coordinates the Official Opening proceedings. 2. One representatives may present the mandates and tasks of the committee.

  5. After the official opening: 1. Using the list of services, the committee foresees security measures for each member. 2. Identifies the training requirements for cooperators by consulting other committees. 3. In collaboration with the local committee, identifies resource-persons for training sessions. 4. Develops a recruiting system, for selecting and integrating new members (interview forms, reception, status in relation to the reserve, cooperative games). 5. Evaluates the motivation of CJS members, including the members of the Human Resources committee. The committee is attentive to the needs of members and plans activities for stimulating motivation and engaging members. 6. Tends to keeping with member contracts. 7. Follows-up on internal management. 8. Is actively involved in conflict resolution, if necessary. 9. Foresees social activities for the CJS, in the community and with the local committee.
