They recorded their first album in London in 1972. • Their next album “Desperado” came out in 1973. • Their first number one hit “Best of My Love” was in their third album in 1974. • Bernie Leadon left the band and was replaced by Joe Walsh. 6. “Best of my Love” • Written by Glenn Fry, Don Henley, and J.D. Souther (a good friend if Glenn Fry’s). • The Eagles’ first number one hit in 1974. • According to Don Henley, he, Souther and Frey wrote some of the lyrics over libations at the Los Angeles restaurant Dan Tana's where they were regulars. There, they studied women and relationships. Henley says they were "typical, frustrated, young men" at the time” (Song Facts).

  12. The Eagles have a ton of great songs that show off each of their member’s talents. They have shown us how hard work and long hours can pay off. I personally believe they are one of the best groups to harmonize with one another. They have great pitch and dynamic in each of their songs. And for a bunch of old guys, they sure know how to bring the house down!
