  2. What will this presentation cover? • Purpose of the Triple Bar discussion. • What is the Triple Bar induction standard? • Why should I undertake Triple Bar / What are the benefits of undertaking the training? • What is the cost to me? • When and where can I do the training? • Will it be accepted at Sellafield? • Overview/Demonstration of the Nuclear Training Framework

  3. What is the Triple Bar Induction training standard? • Comprises 3 elements: • Basic Common Induction Standard • Basic Nuclear Induction Context • Basic Nuclear Industry Behaviours 16 September 2014 4

  4. Why should I undertake Triple Bar training? • It is a sector standard for induction. • Transferable to other sites in the nuclear estate – avoid duplication of effort and additional required training to allow mobility of the workforce. • Raise baseline standard of nuclear knowledge to workers on Nuclear Licensed Sites. • Provide enhanced industry context, standards and behaviours expected of workers on a nuclear licensed site – i.e. what it means to work on a nuclear licensed site – “Nuclear is Different!”.

  5. What people are saying about Triple Bar…… Graham Engineering “Investment in the workforce through the Triple Bar course has had an overall impact on employee behaviour. Through understanding nuclear safety, the industry and the quality requirements, we have witnessed a positive improvement, and an enthusiasm to learn.” Studsvik ‘’We are currently putting all of our personnel through the Triple Bar as a way to drive efficiency for site access, but also reinforce those vital standards within the industry’’. Costain

  6. Cost of Triple Bar • Usual cost of Triple Bar: • £100 (E-Learning for non members of the Skills Academy) • £50 (E-Learning for members of the Skills Academy) • Classroom: • Dependent on Provider’s commercial arrangements. When can I do the Triple Bar Training? • The Triple Bar is readily available via e-learning and is available from local providers for classroom training. • Not stipulated as a requirement at SL, but is deemed to be good practice. • Sellafield Ltd require Safe Unescorted Access training completion to provide local information on rules and compliance requirements.

  8. Current Funding Options • Limited amount of funding available to support implementation of Triple Bar. • How long is this funding available for? • How can this be accessed? • Is it for E-Learning/Classroom delivery?

  10. Sellafield’s Position • Sellafield Ltd is interested in consulting and gaining feedback on what the implementation of Triple Bar as an induction standard would mean for the Supply Chain. • If we choose to implement, we need to get the implementation right for all concerned. • Keen to engage with Supply Chain re comments – If interested in please contact: claire.tandy@sellafieldsites.com – 019467 75757
