Strategy • The strategy focuses on: • Increase awareness of Water Polo/ Mini-Polo! • Increase participation • Develop pathway and club structures/networks • Support development of young talent players • Develop the workforce • Develop a structured Competition framework • Communication Strategy • Influencing facility development to accommodate the needs of Water Polo

What has happen so far? • Approx £60k investment into the England Talent Programme supporting 100+ players • Approx £10K investment over 2 years into 8 coaches on the Advance Coaching Scheme • UKCC Level 3 Water Polo Pilot course has started • Continual development of Water Polo clubs and structures in Crystal Palace, West Midlands, Coventry and Bristol

  10. What has happened so far? • Working on development of a school polo programme (RAPIDS) • Swim21 British Gas Fund for clubs • NCTP/ NPTS resources • Development of a CPD/workshop on engaging with LA/LP • Leadership/ Support from Csaba Rull.

  11. What has happened so far? • Communication Strategy • Blogs have been sent up on competitions/players overseas • Newsletter • Swimming Times

  12. Next steps! • Strategy will be circulated to all regions • Meetings with Regional Directors • Article in Swimming Times – August 2010 • Conference in January 2011 • The plan will then be monitored by the Water Polo Group nationally.
