Development • Established in 1997 as the Centre inside Institute of Social Sciences at Faculty of Social Sciences, UL • ADP joined CESSDA in 1998. • Was part of CESSDA-PPP project. • Since 2012 5 employees: ADP was accepted in a national Research Infrastructures Roadmap 2011–2020 • As of June 2013, the Consortium of European Social Science Data Archives (CESSDA AS) is established as a permanent pan-European distributed research infrastructure that will provide full scale, integrated and sustainable data services. R Slovenia joined. • ADP is national service provider fulfilling obligations of CESSDA AS

Current situation • We have more then 500 data sets in our holding • Yearly around 600 users register for on-line access to analysis and download of data. • 90 % students, 5 % researchers, faculty and other. • Active promotion of data use (participate in teaching, guides, users training) • Approx.. 100 depositors - academic and private research centres, individual researchers, commercial companies, governmental institutions.

Recent activities/ Involvement • Presenting papers at several important conferences (national Slovene Sociological Association, Slovene Political Science Association, Statistical days and Applied statistics, international IASSIST, ESRA, ESA and activities organized inside CESSDA community). • Close cooperation with Slovene NSI (DWB project and wider). • Building capacity in digital preservation (one of key CESSDA requirement). • Project is just finishing that is delivering the Proposal for an action plan on Open Access to research data in Slovenia. • Expert advice in Universities'‘Pilot Repository (ODUN). • Partner in SERSCIDA project

Planned visits and activities for these 2 days 14.30-15.30, National and University Library (NUK) Dr Melita Ambrožič, Deputy Director for Ljubljana University Library System • Mediatory role of libraries in organizations and nationally in the relationship with data centres and with the system of scientific information • Librarians' support in access to data and in research data management • How to plan a new role of librarians more systematically MSc Zoran Krstulović, Deputy Director for Professional Work Management • Wider perspective of the role of libraries in the field of digital culture • dLib (Digital Library) Dr Alenka Kavčič Čolić, Head of Research and Development • Group for digital preservation • Possibilities of including research data in the national design of solutions in this field

Planned visits and activities for these 2 days 14.30-15.30, National and University Library (NUK) Matjaž Kragelj, Head of Information Technology and Digital Library unit • NUK as the national aggregator – connection to Europeana • Persistent identifiers - URN • Technical perspectives related to the long-term preservation • Presentation of the infrastructure for digital preservation in the Fedora environment and possibilities of using services in cooperation with the Social Science Data Archives

Planned visits and activities for these 2 days 10.00-12.00 Slovenian Research Agency (ARRS) Dr Janez Slak, Deputy Director of Slovenian Research Agency • Welcome overview of ARRS activity Dr Primož Pristovšek , Head of the Department of Research Infrastructure and International Cooperation • Organization of infrastructure programs of which ADP is part of (tender, financing, reporting) Dr Stojan Pečlin, Department of Research Programmes and Young researchers, Analysis and Monitoring • Evaluating and grading scientific publications in bibliographies, separately highlighted evaluation of data publications and the connection to SICRIS and COBISS.SI systems Davor Šoštarič, Director of Institute of Information Science (IZUM) • Organization in maintenance of SICRIS and COBISS.SI
