  1. CELLION – financial information Start of the grant: February 1st, 2004 Duration: up to 48 months Reporting periods: month 1–12, 13–24, 25–36, 37–end Financial reports and audits (!): within 45 days of the end of the period

EU contribution and the cost statement First payment: 80% of the ( first reporting period plus first 6 months of the subsequent period ) Next: within 45 days after approval by the Commission of the reports related to reporting period. Accounting outside the Euro zone: Costs incurred in currencies other than the Euro shall be reported in Euro on the basis of the conversion rate that would have applied on the date which the actual costs were incurred or the rate applicable on the first day of the month following the end of reporting period. (in our case February 1st, 2005)

Participant – other financial factors Mobility allowance ( must be modified by the country coeff. ) Single: 500€/ month Married: 800€/ month Travel allowance (rounded UP) from: 250€/ year (< 500 km) to: 2 500€/ year (> 10 000 km) Career development allowance 2 000€ (for researchers recruited for at least 12 months) Participation costs – no consumables, no equipment (!) courses, conferences, training (software !) 400€ / month

  5. Contract examples 1. Early stage researcher, married, 1 year appointment, move from Bordeaux to Uppsala (~2200 km) (30 550_living + 12 * 800_married) * 1.107_Sweden = 44 446€/year ( 3 703 €/month brutto ) plus 1 000_travel + 2 000_career ( once ) 2. Experienced researcher, married, 6 months appointment, move from Legnaro to Surrey (~1200 km) (6/12 * 47 000_living + 6 * 800_married) * 1.125_UK = 31 838 €( 5 306€/month brutto ) plus (6/12 rounded UP) * 750_travel = 750 €( once )

  6. Host institution Recruitment expenses cover 71% of EC contribution. The remaining 29% are used for: Overheads ~10% ( excluding management costs ) Management andCoordination costs ~7% Research / Transfer of Knowledge / Training ~11% ( increased for institutions where short terms visits of experienced researchers were cancelled ) Other 40 000 €QPm system, IFJ Kraków
