  1. PH-DT-DI 2013/2014 ATLAS activities TGC gas system • 2013 New recuperation system for n-Pentane: • Installation of the module in parallelof the first recuperation • Coordination of the safetygasdetection • Test and running for a week (Result at 3500l/h, increase of the recuperation by nearly a factor 2). • Maintenance and modification of the first recuperation: • Dismountling and rebuild of the recuperation as the new one • Installation and test forseen in summer 2014. • Modification of the system to reach the new specification: • New specificationask by the detector team: nominal flow from 2500 l/h to 5000 l/h. (Means new Mixer, new Purifier and new Pump) • Dismountling of the mixer and purifier. • New modules in construction and hopefullyready for summer. • Installation and test forseen in summer 2014. L-Ph. DE MENEZES & F. MERLET CERN/PH-DT-DI

  2. PH-DT-DI 2013/2014 ATLAS activities RPC gas system • 2013 Modification of the 5 distribution input valve: • The ideawas to reduce the pressure increase at the start-up of the modules. • Leak search on the distribution: • Reduce C2H2F4 consumption and monitor the increase of Oxygeninside the system • Modification of the distribution for detector safety: • Quick connector change at the output of the chambers • Installation of hand valves to open chamber to air during long stop. • Modification of the system to reach the new needs: • Actual flow of 3000 l/h increase to 5000 l/h • Modifiaction of the pump module (passing from 2 pumps to 3 pumps) • Gas line from USA 15 to SGX1 has been double withanother 28mm pipe. • 2014 Modification of the purifier pilot valves and new pressure regulation device: • To improve purifier module and buffer pressure regulation. L-Ph. DE MENEZES & F. MERLET CERN/PH-DT-DI

  3. PH-DT-DI 2013/2014 ATLAS activities MDT gas system • 2013 Modification of the distribution pilot valves: • During stops somechannel valves stayedopen because of leakinside pilot valve blocks (around 450 pieces in total for all systems). L-Ph. DE MENEZES & F. MERLET CERN/PH-DT-DI

  4. PH-DT-DI 2013/2014 ATLAS activities TRT gas system • 2013 NEW MIXER WITH ARGON MIXTURE • supply mixture with argon to leakychambers • Recalibration of Mass flow controlers • adaptsome flow to new requests L-Ph. DE MENEZES & F. MERLET CERN/PH-DT-DI

  5. PH-DT-DI 2013/2014 ATLAS activities LUCID gas system • 2013 LUCID Gas system dismountling : • Dismounting of the 2 distribution racks in the cavern • Dismountingof the Pré-distribution rack in the USA15 L-Ph. DE MENEZES & F. MERLET CERN/PH-DT-DI

  6. PH-DT-DI 2013/2014 ATLAS activities TFC gas system • 2013 TFC pump maintenance: • Problemwith the new pumpafter 3 months of running. • Restart of the full system Mars 2014 L-Ph. DE MENEZES & F. MERLET CERN/PH-DT-DI

  7. PH-DT-DI 2013/2014 CMS activities • 2013/2014 Gas systems/Analysis maintenance list: • circulation pumps • safety valves and bubblers • power supplies • profibus quality • pressure regulators • analysis devices • fill TGC with N-Pentane • check/repair heating cables/connectors • calibrations MFC L-Ph. DE MENEZES & F. MERLET CERN/PH-DT-DI

  8. Conclusions • A lot of activities completed/on-going during 2014 • Many new consolidation projects for all experiments L-Ph. DE MENEZES & F. MERLET CERN/PH-DT-DI
