  8. Benefits/Gains • Increased income (USD 900/month) • Creation of employment for the poor locals( 50 ). • Developing useful partnerships , • Appreciation of PPT by various stakeholders • PPT has contributed to conservation of dunga wetland

  10. Challenges • Lack of specialised equipment • Limited skills • Inconsistencies in visitors numbers • Inadequate marketing • Poor packaging of products • Strong competitors e.g established ‘tourism’ institutions. • Absence of PPT policy • Absence of wetlands policy

Opportunities • Existence of wide range of attractions • Availability of guides • Capacity building of the available guides • Increased understanding and appreciation of PPT • Willingness of knowledge advancement by communities • Increased Integrated economic activities • Increasing mainstream tourism in Western Kenya
