Course Title:Written Communication

Students in this course learn and apply basic principles of composition. They need to document the information, materials and references used for their works, applying the APA format. Special emphasis is placed on speaking, reading and writing. By the end of the semester, the students must write outlines, summaries and essays on topics related to the readings made. They will apply important grammar, punctuation and usage skills. A main objective of this course is that students write outlines and 3 to 5 paragraphs essays on topics related to the readings made.

All professionals need to be able to recognize when information is needed and have the ability to locate, evaluate, and use effectively the needed information." Information literacy also is increasingly important in the contemporary environment of rapid technological change and proliferating information resources as the Association of College and Research Libraries, a division of American Library Association, establishes. In order to write essays, at a college level, the students need to know how to access the right information, take notes, summarize , document and react to that information. This activity is designed to introduce and help the students achieve these goals.

The goal of this activity is to provide students with a framework for gaining control over how they interact with the information they have available, take notes, document and react to the information they gather. The professor presents and explains the instructions needed to complete the assignment.
