CA Course - Stages • Stage I: Common Proficiency Test (CPT) • Stage II: Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC) • 100 Hours of Information Technology Training (ITT) • Integrated Professional Competence Examination (IPCE) Group I or Both Groups. • Stage III: Articleship and Final course • Articleship (Practical Training – 3 years) • Integrated Professional Competence Examination (IPCE) Group II (if not cleared earlier). • General Management and Communication Skills (GMCS) • Final examination.

  23. C.A. Course Begins with CPT

About CPT • CPT is entry Level Examination for C.A. course. • CPT is objective type examination requiring student to answer 200 Multiple Choice questions. • It is similar to MH-CET examination, conducted for Engineering and Medical Profession. • CPT Examination is now conducted two times a year, in June and December only.

Objectives of CPT • To focus on career at 10th passing level. • Elimination of prolonged entry norm to CA course by substituting PE-I by CPT and become professional at the age of 21. • Registration after 10th Standard and preparation while pursuing the 10 + 2 study. • To attract young talented students • Commencement of practical training (Articleship) after passing Group I of IPCE. • To inculcate the analytical ability through Multiple Choice Questions, Case studies

  26. CPT – Subjects for Study Expected Level of Knowledge : Basic Knowledge

  27. CPT – Passing Criteria • Student has to obtain minimum 100 marks i.e. 50% of total Marks for passing CPT. • No Subject wise linkage for passing CPT. • Negative marking of 0.25 Marks for every incorrect answer. • Blank answer will fetch Zero marks.

CPT Registration Last Date for December 2009 attempt is 30th September 2009 Registration for CPT After Passing 10th Exam Last Date for June 2009 attempt is 31st March 2009 • Submissions for Registration • 10th Mark Sheet • Birth Date proof • DD of Rs.3,500 Last Date for June 2010 attempt is 31st March 2010 ICAI Grants Registration Give CPT Exam only after appearing in 12th or 10 +2 Exam (even before result)

CPT Registration Procedure • Take the prospectus cum application form by paying Rs. 100. • Take Demand Draft of Rs.3,500 for Tuition Fees • In favour of “The Secretary, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India”. • Payable at Mumbai / Kanpur / New Delhi / Chennai / Kolkata depending upon postal address of the applicant. Rs. 600 additional for CA Journal Subscription, to be paid through DD (It is advised to subscribe to CA Journal). It is optional. • Take Attested Copy of Birth Date Proof and 10th Mark Sheet / Passing Certificate. • Submit the filled in form and Collect Study Material

CPT Registration Procedure • Registration For CPT : • Last Date : 60 days before the first day of the month in which exam takes place • 31St March for June attempt • 30th September for December attempt • Submit forms to : Pune Branch • Correspondence With The Institute : • Registration Matters : Mumbai Office • Examination Matters : Delhi Office • Do not forget to quote your Registration Number: For Name Change, For Address Change and Other Matters.

  36. After CPT join IPCC

  37. Integrated Professional Competence Examination (IPCE) - Eligibility • Student has passed CPT and 10 + 2 Exam. • Student has registered for IPCC at least 9 months before examination. • Student has completed a course on 100 Hours of ITT.

  38. 100 Hours Information Technology Training (ITT) • The student is required to undergo 100 Hours of ITT with ICAI after registration for IPCC. • Course materials will be provided by ICAI.

  39. IPCC – ICAI Fees Note : ICAI New Delhi is yet to make final announcement about the fees.

  40. Subjects for IPCE Expected Level of Knowledge : Working Knowledge Passing % = 40% in each Subject & Aggregate 50%

  43. Articleship • To begin Articleship student should pass atleast Group 1 (not necessarily Both Groups) of IPCE and should have completed ITT of 100 Hours. • The unique requirement of practical training is instrumental in Shaping a well rounded professional. • Total Duration: 3 years. • Last 1 year student can join for Industrial Training. • Stipend is paid during the Articleship period.

  46. Articleship – Minimum Monthly Stipend In Pune Stipend is paid within the range of Rs. 1500 – 2500 – 3000 p.m. in the 1st, 2nd & 3rd year respectively.
