  1. By: Zikra Toure Brandon Thurman Ashton Zittercopf Feasibility Report on UNT Cafeterias

  2. Content • Background and Purpose • Procedure • Finding • Conclusion and Recommendation

  3. Background • UNT counts about 36,000 students, most of which use cafeterias • UNT cafeterias serve a variety of food to students • Salad Bar • Veggie and soup options • Delicious desserts • Burgers • Exciting grilling special

  4. Purpose • The purpose of this report is to determinate which of the UNT cafeteria is the most desirable to eat in among these options: • Bruce Cafeteria: located in Bruce Hall • Kerr Cafeteria: located in Kerr Hall • Mean Green Cafeteria: located behind Maple Hall • Champs Cafeteria: located in Victory Hall

  5. Procedure • Used a survey to compare the cafeteria based on the following criteria: • Overall food • Location • Pizza • Space availability • Ambiance • Walked around campus to ask students to complete the survey

  6. Results • The following table summarizes the results of the survey, 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest.

  7. Results (cont.) • According to the survey • Champs and Bruce have the best food • Bruce is the most suitably located • Bruce has the best pizza • Champs and Kerr have more space than the others • Champs has the best ambiance

  8. Conclusion • Champsseems to be the most suitable place to eat in and Bruce is right after it. Even though Mean Green is UNT’s nationally recognized health-conscious cafeteria, students seem to prefer the Champs and Bruce cafeterias instead.

  9. Recommendation • We recommend Bruce cafeteria first followed by Champs cafeteria. Even though Bruce scored lower overall, it scored higher on the first 3 criteria and finished 1 point behind Champs on the total criteria score. Bruce is suitable to students that live on campus. • We recommend Champs cafeteria for commuters. Driving will negate the low score for Champs in the location criteria. Champs has the best food, a great ambiance, and an abundance of space compared to the other options.
