  2. Jack Jack creates a throne for himself as he sits and barks orders. What kind of “chief” is he? What type of government does this symbolize? Jack is now using the beastie as a tool to manipulate and cause fear- why do you think that is? Are the boys having as much freedom and fun as they thought they would?

  3. Simon In chapter 8, we see foreshadowing with the ‘Lord of the Flies’ telling Simon he’ll never get off the island. How do we see that in chapter 9? Why do you think Simon is the one that has to die in chapter 9? Would someone else’s death have been as effective? Why/why not? Why does the island wash Simon’s death from its shore?
