  1. Time Travel “What should I think about before hopping into my time machine?”

  2. As time travellers, we could jeopardize our own futures. • In Back to the Future, Marty Mc Fly visited the 50s and got an unpleasant surprise when his mother fell for him! • In order to save his own future, Marty had to figure out how to make his parents fall in love with one another.

  3. There wouldn’t be consequences for cruel or selfish actions. • What if someone who dislikes you could destroy your happiest memory? • What if everyone could return to the past to place no-risk gambling bets?

  4. “Does the flap of a butterfly’s wings in Brazil set off a tornado in Texas?” • This quote by scientist Philip Merilees suggests that even small changes in the atmosphere could cause a chain reaction that causes, or inhibits, a larger phenomenon. • This is called the Butterfly Effect.

  5. So what might happen if… • You went back in time to see the dinosaurs, and your time machine accidentally ran over an evolving colony of plants that are medicinally beneficial to us today?

  6. Think of all of the ways we could damage the world we know… (if anything remained at all!)
