  1. Alice Salomon • Our University was founded in 1908 by Alice Salomon (1872- 1948) as a „social Womenschool“ • Today it is a University for social work and social pedagogy as well as the new Bachelors course for Occupational- and physiotherapsits • In October 2007 the first 32 (occupational- and physiotherapist) Bachelor of Science graduated • The University only has 1400 Students, and only 80 of them are occupational- or physiotherapist

If you want to study at the ASFH…. there are two possibilities: 1) after completing a three year training course at a cooperating „OT- College“(Wannsee Schule Berlin e.V. and Waldkrankehaus Spandau) one is then allowed to work as an OT and has the possibility to study at the ASFH OR 2) having worked as an OT for at least two years as an OT one can apply at the ASFH and do an entrance exam to assess academic potential

Some details on the course…. • Uni takes place 3 days per week for 4 semesters • Most of the students are working as OTs part-time for 10-20 hours per week • The following modules are covered: • Theories, history and foundations • Assessments and Documentation • Clinical Reasoning • Evidence-based praxis • Research methods • Healthstudies, Health economics, -politics (and -law) • Employees- and quality management • Ethics

  6. Half of the moduels Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapist do together • There are no more than 40 students per year (half OT, half PT), and at least 8 of these are OTs with 2 or more years of work experience • There are no tuition fees, • because studying at Uni in Germany is for free
