Border County • Students must complete the following forms: • Residency Inquiry form (if application residency questions are not completed) • Request for In-state Tuition Rate form • North Carolina • Ashe • Avery • Haywood • Madison • Mitchell • Yancey • Watauga • Virginia • Grayson • Lee • Scott • Washington

  5. Eligibility Verification for Entitlements Act (EVEA) • Academic Common Market • 7 – former code • R – Non-Verified • V – Verified • Military Dependent • D – former code • N – Non-Verified • Q – Verified • FT Employee & PT Student • A – Verified • Parent Relocated • P – Verified

  6. Accepted Documentation – U.S. Citizen • Proof of FASFA • Driver’s License • (except from Utah & New Mexico) • State Issued Photo ID • (except from Utah & New Mexico) • Official birth certificate from a U.S. state or territory • Valid U.S. passport – not expired

  7. Accepted Documentation – U.S. Citizen (continued) • U.S. government issued birth certificate • U.S. certificate of birth abroad of a U.S. citizen (DS-1350 or FS-545) • Report of birth abroad of a U.S. citizen (FS-240) • Certificate of naturalization (N550, N570, or N578) • U.S. citizen ID card (I-197)

  8. Accepted Documentation – Permanent Residents • State Issued Driver’s License • (except from Utah & New Mexico) • Green Card (Form I-551) – not expired • Refugee Asylees will have I-94

Accepted Documentation – Non-Resident Aliens • Visa type F1 or J1 on GOAINTL • Or 2 of the following: • Valid U.S. Driver’s License • Valid U.S. State Photo ID • Employment Authorization form (Form I-766) • Valid foreign passport with valid visa (neither expired) • DS-2019 or IAP-66 (for J1 Visa holders) • Refugee Travel Document (I-571) • Arrival/Departure Record (Form I-94) • Non-Resident Alien Canadian Border Crossing Card • Certificate of Eligibility for Student Status (I-20) • Arrival/Departure Record I-94 Portion attached (Form I-797) • Other documents determined by Homeland Security to be acceptable
