Enzyme -

  • Organic catalyst

    • speeds up reactions

  • proteins

  • lower activation energy Ea

  • can be reused over and over


Coenzyme

COENZYME -

  • 1/2 enzyme

  • 1/2 vitamin

    • enhance the effect of an enzyme


Cooperative group roles

COOPERATIVE GROUP ROLES:

  • Recorder - writes down data

  • Grabber - gets the beads

  • Polymer maker - adds the beads to the growing chain


Trial 1 baseline

TRIAL 1 - baseline

  • Pick up your specific bead color and run it back to your desk to be added to the growing polymer chain

  • timing is done every 10 seconds


Trial 2 coenzyme

TRIAL 2 - Coenzyme

  • Same as the control but the grabber can throw the bead back to the polymer maker


Trial 3 denaturation

TRIAL 3 - Denaturation

  • Same as the baseline but you must tape together your fingers

    • that means NO THROWING back to the polymer maker!!!!


Trial 4 competitive inhibition

TRIAL 4: Competitive Inhibition

  • same as the baseline but you must bounce the ping pong ball catch it then get your bead
