  1. C.J.R.A MEDIA FOUNDATION PROJECTS By Rebecca Amuge

  2. REPRESENTATION A stereotypical working class teenage mother. That was the first idea however due to a change of circumstances it wasn’t possible. So the story changed to teenager girls who are in college talking a bout typical Issues; boys, makeup and parties. Age group varies from 15 – 19 year olds. The language spoken between the young characters differs from standard English so slang is used instead.

  3. Mis en scene • Originally we were going to use a Black car or a cab to show a character being in danger after a party, however we changed this idea because finding a vehicle we could of used was time consuming • We’ll be using natural lighting to create a scene of realism. How ever I could have used artificial lighting and some color filters to create a variety of atmospheres. • The majority of the scenes will be shot during day time however if the original storyline was going to be about the baby sitter it would have been film during the night time. • Bella will be wearing casual clothing like her leather jacket, jeans and she’ll be applying make-up and have straight hair. Lip gloss in one hand. • Katie will be wearing something more smart writing in her books as she is suppose to be a geek and loves to read as education is her main priority. • Rose will be wearing jeans and a tight t-shirt with a leather jacket. Her i-pod will be permanently in her hand as she LOVES music. • Props: • Drink bottles (alcohol) • Pints • Dolly baby • Bottles of water on the table

  4. CONVENTIONS • Intro credits – each has their own clip in the intro credit which will show them in action to represent their individual character. • Sound track – modern music: • Hip hop • R&B • Grime • Rock

  5. TITLES At the beginning of the film clip but in between the first scene after the voice over then we are introduced with the conventional theme song. For the opening titles it will be the names and title appearing at the bottom of the screen for each featured characters. During Rose's voice over she will be talking about her two best friends Katie & Bella scene changes showing what both characters are like and their names appear at the bottom of the screen. For example when Rose talks about “Bella’s consistently looking in the mirror she really does fancy herself” Her first and last name is featured at the bottom of her scene. A book for Katy, highlighting her personality and at this point her name too is featured at the bottom of the screen. The girls will then continue to get ready while other names appear. The music will then slowly fade when the girls meet a college and begin to talk about this amazing party they are attending in the coming week. The opening titles connect the type of genre of the film as it's distinguishing the characters. Then finally at the send of the short film the credits appear again with characters names but also actors official names also the editor and sponsors. The genre is a teen coming of age so how the characters behave at the beginning is important, as they won't behave the same at the end.

  6. Audience • Young adults from ages 15 to 25 year olds. This short film clip will attract teenagers at it is more relative to there type of hectic life style.

  7. USE OF EQUIPMENT • Camera - this is to capture all the action for the film clip • Dolly - to keep the camera steady to avoid accidental jerking • Microphone sound booster – to increase the volume of the conversation between characters.

  8. CAMERA WORK • We used a various amount of shots to create all sorts of reactions i.e. suspense when using a close up an to feel the real emotion of the character.

  9. SOUND • In my group we have used an introduction voice over to give an insight of what the characters personalities are like before hand to give the audience an understanding. • I’ve also chosen a genre of ‘garage’ music to introduce the short film as it relates to me and the type of music use young teens enjoy. • The film starts off to be innocent however if the film was to be a bit longer for the up coming party that would have been filmed I would have used a more hardcore dangerous type of sound to indicate horror, danger, suspense and to create tension and predicament.

  10. EDITING

  11. INFLUENTIAL FILMS WHEN A STRANGER CALLS 2006 FILM This film is about Jill Johnson who has been given no choice but to babysit at a big isolated house all by herself as a punishment from her parents for exceeding her phone bill (minutes). Then all of a sudden a stranger calls making these weird remarks. Jill decides to call the police to trace the call. Jill is freaked out when she finds out that the call is coming from inside the house! Jill runs in a hurry trying to get the children and leave…
