Assign synthesis research paper (p. 210; due dates p. 214); Walden additional assignments (p. 201); RLARS dates given (p. 284-285) • 2. “Pop Quiz” on Spring, Conclusion, and Civil Disobedience • 3. Go to library to look for RLARS book or show me your RLARS book (you can also bring it on Wednesday) • Begin going over tips for synthesis essay (p. 168) and do group brainstorming activity

  2. Aplang for nov 6(A)/7(B) • Daily Objectives: To continue to understand how to write a synthesis essay. • Daily Assignments: • A Day Students—Show me RLARS book • 1. Go over Writing Tips for Synthesis Essay (p. 168) and do group brainstorming activity in class • 2. Work on Walden utopian activity (p. 204) • 3. I will conference with you some time in class on the quote you chose for your research paper and how you will defend, challenge, or qualify this quote. • WARNING: Your open book test on Walden will be next class period and it will be 150 points.

  3. Aplang for nov 8(A)/9(B) • Daily Objectives: To be able to synthesize and analyze the main arguments of Henry David Thoreau. • Daily Assignments: • 1. Open Book Test on Walden • 2. Complete Exit Ticket activity on “The Life and Times of Thoreau” on p. 208a and 208b

  6. Enc 1101 for nov. 6 • Daily Objectives: To successfully complete a comprehensive college test. • Daily Assignments: • 1. Take midterm test • 2. If done early, read your RLARS book • Remember to bring your Wadsworth book, RLARS book, SFSC book, and your SFSC library card to class next class period

  7. Enc 1101 for nov. 8 • Daily Objectives: To understand the validity of sources to include in a research paper. • Daily Assignments: • 1. Go over RLARS due dates and show me RLARS bookand SFSC book. • 2. Do p. 65-66 in Guidebook with a partner using Wadsworth Handbook • 3. Work on putting hyperlinks of sources onto turnitin.com in Rm. 213 (due tonight to turnitin.com); you can also work on your annotated works cited and formal brainstorming (due Nov. 16)
