  2. Kentucky Farmers’ Market A farmers’ market is defined as a prescribed location (s) where two or more producers gather on set days and times to sell products that they grow or produce directly to consumers.

KDA’S ROLE • Kentucky Proud Member • Approved location for: • Sale of Home-based Processed/Microprocessed value-added food items • Farmers’ market temporary food-service permit • Sale of Kentucky produced wine • Eligible to participate in the Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program • Eligible to participate in the WIC program • Kentucky Proud cost share promotional items • Advertising & market development cost-share programs • Receive updates and information on changing regulations

  5. KDA’S ROLE • KDA Farmers’ Market Manual • New Addition Best Practices for Sampling by UK • Regulates the following programs: • Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program • GAP and GAP diplomas • Sampling Certificates • Egg Sales • Market Scales and Inspections

  10. Restaurant Rewards Program Rewards members up to 20% of the value of their products they purchase from producers or distributors of KY Proud products that have a direct KY farm impact. Up to $12,000 per year Close to 230 participants
