  2. What are Worms? • Worms are numerous long, slender, soft-bodied, legless, and bilaterally symmetrical invertebrates.

  3. Some types of Worms • Flat worm • Round worm • Tapeworm • Earthworm • Hookworm • Pinworm • and many more.

  4. Why are Worms important? • Worms are important because they plowthe soil by tunnelling through it. There it provides the soil with passageways, which water and air circulate. • That is important because soil microorganism and plant roots need air and water just like we do. • Without some land and plowing soil becomes compacted , air and water cannot circulate anymore, and plant roots cannot penetrate.

  5. How Do Worms Move? • Worms use muscles to stretch out. • They then contract the muscle and arch. • Worm repeat these steps when they move.

  6. What do worms eat? • Worms eat soil and take the nutrients • The also eat the leaves that are in the soil.

  7. Interesting facts about worms • Worms don’t have lungs. They “breathe” by allowing air into their body and through the skin. • Worms have five hearts. • Worms get flooded by the heavy rain. That’s why we see them on the surface after it rains. • When we worms eat something blue they will turn blue for a while.

  8. Where Worms live. • Worms live in soil, tall trees, lakes, ponds, under rocks and in water. • But worms love to stay in rich soil. • Worms can also live anywhere!

  9. How long can worms live? • Worms can live up to two – three years. • If a worm is in a fridge it can live for a year.

  10. How do worms help? • The stuff worms eat is converted to humus. Humus is sort of like fertilizer.
