  • 17 Officers and 349 ‘Other Ranks’ were killed in the attack at the Boar’s Head

  • 21 Officers and 728 other ranks were wounded and an unknown number taken prisoner

  • The dead included numerous sets of brothers

  • Of those that died 70% were from Sussex
