CAMPAIGN SCOPE • Annual fundraising drive conducted by Federal employees • Raise millions of dollars through CFC ($209 million in 2013) • Benefits thousands of non-profit Human Health and Welfare • charities. • Our campaign conducted Oct 1 – Dec 12 at every Federal • agency. • The Combined Federal Campaign is the only authorized solicitation of employees in the Federal workplace on behalf of charitable organizations

CFC PLEDGE DESIGNATIONS • Donors are encouraged to designate their gifts to specific organizations OR designate to Federations that are listed in the Campaign Brochure. • Designating gifts allows donors to channel contributions to organizations that represent their interests or concerns. • If designate to a federation, the contribution is used to support the work of the federation or is shared with its affiliated agencies in accordance with the federation’s policy. • Designations can only be made to organizations in the Brochure/Online. Write-ins are prohibited.

  6. NEW 2014Universal Giving is Here! Universal Giving is the ability to donate to any of the 24,000+ national, international, and local charities (not denied participation in the CFC) without regard to geographic boundaries. An example would be if you work in the State of Pennsylvania and you want to donate to a Brooklyn, New York food pantry (and they are in the CFC), with Universal Giving, this can now be achieved. Find ALL CFC charity codes at www.3riverscfc.org and use the “Charity Look Up” tool. You can place the charity code on your paper pledge card or donate online through MyPay, EEX or CFC Nexus. The “Universal Giving List” is a single nationwide list of ALL 24,000+ charities in the CFC and this list will only be made available to donors electronically. Please visit www.3riverscfc.org. Please know that the print version of the CFC Charity List/Directory will continue to contain the national & international charity information provided by OPM and the 300+ local charities approved in the 3 Rivers/PA West CFC region.

  7. Online Giving Options For All Federal Employees The 3 Rivers/PA West CFC is proud to offer THREE methods of making your CFC payroll deduction donation online. Making your donation online offers a variety of benefits including a charity search tool, verification of the charity codes you enter, mathematical accuracy, and increased privacy and confidentiality. ONLINE OPTIONS: Employee Express (EEX) is available to employees at SELECT federal agencies. Pledge goes directly to EEX payroll office. www.3riverscfc.org MyPay is available to employees at SELECT federal agencies (DFAS). Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) provides payment services to the United States Department of Defense. Pledge goes directly to MyPay payroll office. www.3riverscfc.org CFC Nexus is available to ALL donors in the region (no matter the payroll office) and is encouraged for agencies/donors whom do not have access to the EEX and MyPay payroll programs. www.3riverscfc.org

WAYS TO GIVE TO CHARITY THROUGH CFC • Online giving www.3riverscfc.org – Payroll Deduction Options • Select agencies can give through the Employee Express payroll website • Select agencies can give through the MyPay website • All federal employees can use CFC NEXUS program • CFC Pledge Card – Payroll Deduction, Cash or Check • Cash (one time giving) • Check (one time giving made out to CFC) • Credit Card www.3riverscfc.org • All these venues allow the donor to pick as many charities as they wish.

  17. CFC LOGO ACCESS TO OFFICIAL CFC LOGOS: You may obtain the new logo and brand standards at OPM’s website at www.opm.gov/cfclogo/logo/download.aspx. You will be prompted to review and accept terms of the user agreement. You must agree to the user agreement before proceeding. By checking the box and clicking on the proceed button, you are agreeing to all terms outlined. Once you accept, you will be taken to the page you were originally attempting to access.

HOW CHARITIES CAN GET INVOLVED IN CFC • Promote your CFC Code on everything • Attend Charity Fair(s) that fits your mission • Become a CFC Charity Speaker • Charity Speakers MAY be scheduled for keyworker training sessions & federal agency group solicitations • Volunteer • Charities are requested to provide assistance with the packing of CFC materials for keyworkers & event set up

  30. CHARITY FAIR REMINDER • Please know dates and times may change. • Make sure to review email invitation and not this Power Point. • New charity fairs may be arranged. So please read all CFC emails. • Stay at your assigned table at charity fair. • Be friendly, talk to guests, if possible stand for eye contact.

  37. CFC REGULATION CHANGESYears 2016 - 2020 1. By 2020 CFC will be online giving only (only 30% give this way now) 2. Starting 2016 no cash or check donations (Currently CFC events raise cash funds) 3. Slow progression between 2016 - 2020 for no Local Director/PCFO. Future will rely on Federal Employee to promote CFC (No local CFC contact) 4. Starting 2016 annual fee for charities to apply to be in CFC campaign 5. Starting 2016 online option for CFC application process 6. Tentative - Starting 2016 Charities with revenue of under $250,000 will not require a full audit
