  1. BALWOIS 2010 Ohrid, 27 May 2010 Energy Valorization of the Hydro Potential For Water Supply Companies Anton Causevski*, Tomislav Stambolic**, Sofija Nikolova* * Faculty of Electrical Engineering & IT – Skopje ** JP Vodovod i Kanalizacija - Skopje

  2. Small HPP in WSS The WSS can have technical possibilities for building the small HPP on the existing pipe lines or to build additional tunnels, channels, water capture and turbine building. • Basic investigations should be done from the technical point of view • Mainly depends on the terrene configuration, • Water inflow • Height between the water capture and turbine building.

  3. ENERGY OUTPUT FROM Small HPP 2 operation regimes can be observed: • Run of river small HPP, operating with the water discharge as the inflow one • Storage Small HPP with reservoir which operates with installed water discharge Run of river HPP Storage HPP

  4. MODDELING THE INTEGRATED SYSTEM OF WSS WITH SMALL HPP Neglected construction period Considering the construction period

  5. Energy evaluation of small HPP Data for water inflows for 6 years in each month (6 x 12)

  6. Electricity generation Lost of electricity

  7. Sensitivity for installed power

  8. Generated and lost energy Installed power and operating hours (h/day)

  9. Economical evaluation of small HPP in a complex WSS Economical parameters for small HPP Economical parameters for WSS

  10. Economical values of small HPP and WSS as an individual projects Small HPP WSS

  11. Economical values of integrated system of WSS and small HPP Delay time for HPP of k=10 years

  12. CONCLUSION Economical issues of the integrated system of WSS and small HPP • What is the acceptable discount interest for investment • Time framework which is most suitable with taking into account the economy policy of the company • The delay time of investing the new small HPP in existing WSS, in order to have the best financial benefit • What is the influence of the investments, and how to be ensure loans for the potential investors • What is additional benefit from electricity output from small HPP as well as the ecological benefit as the small HPP as a CDM project • If the energy using of the water can make problems for normal operating of the WSS.
