We can also avoid having to pay for these services” – EPA. • Set-up in 2004 and managed by the EPA. • Aim to deliver substantive results on waste prevention and minimisation.

  11. Nike make use of recycled PET: • Nike: • For new team jerseys Nike use discarded water bottles destined for landfill sites, where they can take up to 500 years to decompose. This saves precious raw materials and reduces energy consumption by up to 30% compared to conventional fabrics.

  12. Smurfit-Kappa & their use of recycled paper: • Smurfit-Kappa: • Most corrugated products from Smurfit Kappa have a recycled content rate of approximately 75%.

  13. Irish Distiller’s Jameson whiskey bottle. • Irish Distillers Pernod Ricard: • IDPR use approximately 70% recycled glass for all their Jameson bottles, reducing the energy requirements dramatically.

  14. Coca-Cola’s use of recycled aluminium & glass: Coca-Cola: Coca-Cola’s aluminium cans and glass bottles already contain up to 60% recycled content. By using recycled aluminium in cans, for example, they save up to 95% of the energy required when using virgin aluminium.
