  3. . . . . . ptt telecom The Start: 1981 Rene Blok joins the PTT Ideasystem as a rookie, PTT has more than 100.000 employees, is owned By the Government. Traditional, Centralized and Rules Driven . Its system gets only 1000 ideas a Year and handling time on average 20 weeks per Idea, only ideacards an no computers, very stuffy image with Controlling Supervisors….. 1991: TIME FOR A CHANGE FROM ROOKIE – MANAGER OF IDEAS ACTIVE, DECENTRALISED, SUPPORTIVE SUPERVISORS IDEAMANAGEMENT PART OF QUALITY DEPARTMENT IDEACARDS SKIPPED, IDEAFORM ONLY 4 QUESTIONS SYSTEM SIMPLIFIED 1993 Telecom Idea Management is born and just called TIM. ideacards skipped, new logo (le penseur de Rodin), simple rules, no ideacommittee anymore just ideamanagers, cash on the nail concept is introduced and a lot of incentives especially liquirish and cash before implementation. 5500 ideas, 10 million guilders net savings and handling time drops. Now 7 weeks on average per idea….. CANDY / / CASH

  6. Booming Business: • 1997 TIM starts own homepage www.goldenideas.nl and everyone can submit ideas 24 hours a day. Booming business with 6800 ideas a year, 80 million guilders Net savings and handling time of 7 weeks • 1998 Posters and best ideas on the homepage give more publicity. Dutch people love Internet and it shows. 5000 ideas, 22 million guilders net savings and handling Time of 6 weeks • 1999 René has an idea to organise the first International Idea Conference in the Netherlands (Kijkduin) with Hans Michielsen and they start their International Benchmark.

  7. Best Practice: • 2000 TIM chosen Best Practice in Holland (university of Nijenrode) BENCHMARKS 2 COMPANIES PER WEEK First International Idea Conference TIM wins the Creativity award by National Ideacenter. Who was the CEO those days???? NET SAVINGS: € 100 million Record in the Netherlands!!!!

  8. The other side: • 2001 Tim speaks at the Ideaconference hosted by Global Idea Systems in Orlando at Disney Wide World Sports. KPN buys Mobile Phones Frequencies (UMTS) Dramatic changes. It's a whole new ballgame 2002  25 presentations but no extra income.  EVD is an Agency of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, owned by the Government.  EVD has 350 employees René gets a project  Facility Management and his idea is to combine it with Ideamanagement.  EVD IDEA is born and it will be a new formula.  ‘Cash on the nail’ concept still works.  Unique software for Ideamanagement is made by a former Ideamanager (SWH)  New logo and same simple rules.  No Ideacommittee but Ideamanagers. Been there, done that!!!!

Believe in your formula: Make a service declaration 2002☺ The Employees can submit ideas whenever they want. 24 - 7 - 365 via Internet ☺ No office hours for Ideamanagement. ☺ A response is given within 24 hours (smartphone) ☺ Lotteries make Ideamanagement interesting. ☺ Incentives are a strong part of the deal. ☺ Support by Management is essential. ☺ Ideamanagement rules on the Internet. ☺ Best ideas on the homepage. ☺ Fast handling time is essential for Ideamanagement. www.ideamanagement.nl

PILOT: 2003 ▣A pilot is necessary for the EVD. ▣ Ideamanagement as to save money. ▣ Employee involvement is part of the plan. ▣ Creativity And Innovation is a must. ▣ Ideamanagement has to be a lot of fun. ▣ Theme approach is a part of the game. ▣ EVD management supports EVD IDEA ▣ It is very simple to submit ideas EVD = 350 employees = 150 ideas = € 25.000 euro net savings. www.ideamanagement.nl

  12. EVD IDEA IS A HIT:2004/2005 EVD IDEA starts as a new project Co Creation/Rent a Brain is founded by Hans Michielsen in Oslo Norwegian Ideacenter is part of the deal. EVD IDEA still works. 100 ideas per year , 25% is implemented and handling time is 4 days per idea. Article is written for EZ-Journal of the Ministry about EVD IDEA.

  13. 2006 (Innovation Award): • EVD IDEA get an Innovation award. • There is an article on Facility Management-web • (more than 100.000 subscribers). • René Blok joins the board of the Dutch National Ideacenter. • Employees of EVD are still creative and another 100 ideas in 2006 with 20% implementation and handling time of 5 days on average. www.ideamanagement.nl

  14. 2007 (Time for Creativity): • EVD IDEA gets a boost. • “Time for Creativitiy” is the theme of 2007. • Submit Ideas to get some extra time became a hit. More than • 150 ideas are submitted and it is still going on. • At this moment the winners of the best Ideas are chosen and • will win a trip to Sillicon Valley. • Dutch people love lotteries, • ideacampaigns, incentives and • that will never change

  15. 2008/2009 • Eurppean Center of Innovation is born • More Co Creation workshops in Europe • The Ideamanagement Information System is made by Harry v/d Wees ceo SWH • European Ideas Day is organised by Rene Blok and receives a life time achievement award
