  1. 25 Fun Ways To Learn Alphabets Activities For Kids All kids love their ABCs, but if we want to take things a few notches further and have them perfect the alphabet, our activities must be both memorable and fun. You need to know this: letter recognition is essential because it helps early readers figure out how printed text is associated with the spoken language. Click here for kids preschool admissions. 25 Fun Ways to Learn Alphabets Here are 25 ways kids can master the alphabet; and have fun. 1. Alphabet Ice Painting One of the more creative alphabet activities to bring out the budding artist. Put water in the alphabet ice mold and set it overnight in the freezer. Pop the ice letters out and paint them using washable paint. Tip: Have kids say the letter they are painting for alphabet recognition. 2. Upper and LowerCase Matching On post-it slips, write upper and lower case letters before mixing the post-its. Match all uppercase letters with their corresponding lower case counterparts.

  2. Tip: Go slow. Match half the alphabet on day one. 3. Find the Magic Color Invisible colors make for great alphabet activities! Paint letters on paper with a white crayon and have your child paint over them to find them! Tip: Write your child’s name for them to uncover! 4. Keep it Natural Use objects from nature to create letters. Leaves, stones, or whatever you can find. Tip: Combine different objects to create one letter. 5. Bath Play Use alphabet letters cut out of the sponge at bath time. Tip: Have kids trace and cut the letters before bath play. 6. Create a Letter Pizza All you need is a paper plate and alphabet ‘toppings’ cut out from (preferably red) paper for a great ‘tomato letter pizza.’ Tip: Add capsicum cut-outs from green paper. We got to include ‘veggies’! 7. Play ‘Musical Alphabet.’ Place alphabet cut-outs in a circle. Walk around until the music stops, and take the closest letter. An excellent letter activity! Tip: Say two words with the allotted letter. 8. Alphabet Scavenger Hunt A letter activity that brings out the hidden explorer. Bring items that start with a designated letter and place them in a pile. Tip: Extend it to the outdoors! 9. Write and Draw One of the more specific alphabet letter activities for preschool. Choose a letter and write it on a sheet of paper. Draw something that starts with it alongside. Repeat. Tip: Keep enough space for each drawing. 10. Sort the Alphabet

  3. The best alphabet letters for preschool sharpen kids’ skills. Sort cut-outs of the alphabet in the correct sequence. Tip: Create letters from different-colored paper for an enhanced sensory experience. 11. Eat those Alphabets Abc activities with food? That’s right! Essential foods your child loves, like pancakes, can be cut into alphabets. Tip: Correctly identify the ‘food letter’ before eating it. 12. Playdough Letters Playdough can be used for ABC activities that provide a great tactile experience. Use letter stamps to create letters in your favorite playdough. Tip: Alternatively, use cookie cutters to cut letters from playdough. 13. Pipe Cleaners Letter Fun One of the most accessible letter activities. Use a couple or even three pipe cleaners to create large letters. Tip: Cut pipe cleaners for smaller letters. 14. Beach Ball Fun No need to go to the beach for this, one of the most incredible letter activities. Have kids identify letters at the spots their hands are at when they catch a beach ball marked with letters. Tip: Underline each letter so there is no confusion between, say, ‘M’ and ‘W.’ 15. Read Alphabet Books A great way to get children inducted into reading, too. Get books that list both upper and lowercase letters. Tip: Keep it simple. Select books that have limited words on each page. 16. Hopscotch Fun A great way to learn. Enjoy the game of hopscotch as you jump to different letters. Tip: You must say the letters loudly when you jump on them. 17. Write the Letter to its Sound Children have to write down the alphabet when you say them. Tip: Play audio of a letter sound instead of saying it yourself.

  4. 18. Slap the Letter Game You can relax. No humans will be slapped. The child has to beat the letter you call out on a blackboard filled with notes. Tip: Up the difficulty quotient. Call out words that begin with the letter to be slapped. 19. Alphabet Bingo When you get five alphabets, it’s bingo! Call out alphabets from bingo cards and have your child scratch them off their bingo ticket. Tip: Make it more challenging. Throw in uppercase letters along with those lowercase ones. 20. Kick The Cup Game Knock down the cup labeled (in large) with the alphabet called out, with a softball—a super fun letters activity. Tip: Conversely, kids can knock down a cup randomly and then identify the letter (in miniature) on the fallen cup. 21. Alphabet Basketball Enhance your kid’s motor skills. Dunk paper chits with letters corresponding to the one you call out into a basketball hoop. Tip: Don’t have a hoop? Use a cardboard box! 22. Button Letters Use buttons for endless letter-creating fun. Tip: Think of a word with the letter created before moving on to the following letter. 23. Bake your Way through the Alphabet Bake cookies, creating all letters of the alphabet. Tip: Don’t eat all cookies in one day to stay a healthy learner! 24. Sensory Tray Indulge the sense of touch with a tray of beads. Create a letter by tracing through the dots to form the desired pattern. Tip: Use all sorts of things, like rice and sand, for your sensory tray. 25. Highlighting Letters Highlight letters on a page with a fluorescent marker.

  5. Tip: Highlight letters that begin with words you call out, too. Make sure you expand slowly as you go along with these fun activities for alphabet recognition. Ensure you gauge excitement levels before you make those games more challenging. Visit EuroKids for a more engaging blog.
