Lincoln Middle School CHAMPS!

  • What is CHAMPS?

  • CHAMPS is a research-based, school-wide system at Lincoln Middle School that emphasizes positive behavior interactions and supports for all students. The goal is to ensure that challenging or inappropriate behavior is replaced by positive social skills. Since the program is enacted school-wide, the student expectations are the same throughout the entire school and students understand what they need to do.

  • Conversation-What is the appropriate conversation level during a classroom activity or in a common area? (No talking, quiet conversation, etc.)

  • Help-What is the appropriate way the student can ask for help during an activity or in a common area? (Raise hand, seek closest adult, etc.)

  • Activity-What will be needed, what type of action is taking place and how long will it take? (Students will need a pencil, eyes on speaker, etc.)

  • Movement-What type of movement is occurring and when? (Student can get tissue without raising hand, walking in hallway, etc.)

  • Participation-How will students show they are taking part in the activity and who should be participating? (Students should be writing, students must have a pass during class time, etc.)
