  2. Tryout Process • Kick and Jazz Dance • Lyrical Dance • Right and Left Splits • Flexibility • Correct Technique and Alignment • “Across the Floor” Skills • Grades • School Attendance • Attitude/Behavior

  3. Attire Tryout Clinic Tryout • Any Black Dance or Aerobic Attire is acceptable • Foot paws, Jazz Shoes or Jazz Sneakers can be worn • Hair in a ponytail • Black Tank top or Leotard • Black Sports Bra • Black Booty Shorts, Bikers, or Soffe Shorts • Black or Tan Tights may be worn (no feet) • Hair in a ponytail, no bangs or wispies. • White Bow or Ribbon in hair • Jazz Shoes or Foot paws • Tryout Number pinned on • Heavier Make-up

  4. Selection Process • No set amount • Blanchard, Schaaf and Kelly judge the tryouts • Results will be posted online for everyone, Sunday March 27, 2011 • There is no guarantee you will be selected if you were an Escort for this year • The decision of the Directors will be final!

  5. How to be competitive? • We have to base tryouts on talent and ability • Parent participation does not guarantee a spot on the team • Old members will be judged on improvement over the year

  6. Fees and Costs -Supplies -Camp Fees - Annual Escort Fee

  7. Initial Cost and Supplies • Initial practice uniforms (dance paws, practice tops and bottoms, hair accessories, tights, etc.) • T-Shirts (Summer Camp, Football Season, Contest, Spring Show, Bob/Sue, etc.) • Performance Supplies (MAC Make-up, Boots, Hat, etc.) ESTIMATED COST FOR NEW MEMBERS: $1000…yikes!! Fundraising Opportunities are provided to help pay for some or all of the amount!! 

  8. Camp Fee • All Escorts will pay a Camp Fee – Camp Fees cover Bonding Camp, and Line Camp. Camp fee is $400.00 • Out of the $400.00, $150.00 will be due in April and the remainder ($250.00) will be due in May

  9. Annual Escort Fee • Annual Fee is $500 ½ Due in September and ½ Due in December ____________________________________________________ Dance Officers + $200 Due in November ____________________________________________________ Kick and Lyrical Company +$150 Due in October ____________________________________________________ Social Officer + $100 Due in November Escort Managers pay a total of $150

  10. Trip Fee • Every other year we attend an In-State Trip Approx. $425.00 • On the opposite years we attend an Out-of-State Trip Approx. $800.00-$1,000.00

  11. Summer Camps And 2-a-days

  12. Summer Camps and 2-a-days will begin on Monday, August 1, 2011 -These practices will be mandatory for all participating Escorts -Bonding Camp: TBA -Practice Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM Lunch 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM

  13. Football Season -Dad’s Club/Security -Fundraisers -Mandatory Thursday Band Practice

  14. Dad’s Club/Security and Booster Club Dad’s Club: Dads, Uncles, Grandfathers and guardians are welcome and encouraged to be a part of this wonderful “Club” within the organization. They provide water, security to and from restrooms, and escort the team on and off the football field. Booster Club: We have a very active Booster Club as well. The Booster Club meets every 2nd Monday of the month.

  15. Ad Sales • Football Ad Sales, are a vital asset to our program. To keep the cost of Escorts as low as possible, we ask that each Escort sells a minimum of 2 ads. • Spring Show Ad Sales, begin in March. Again, this helps to offset the expense of Escorts. We ask that each Escort sell a minimum of 2 ads.

  16. Fundraising Examples: -Cookie Dough -Mule Drawing -Trip Voucher Drawing -Golf Tournament -Popcorn Sales -Bullritos -Kicks for Tips at Papa Johns

  17. Every Thursday, Every Week, from 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM; Mandatory Practice!! New rule: We will not have Thursday morning practice, this will be the only opportunity to attend tutorials. ALL tutorials need to be completed at this time or after school on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday. Grades are very important, if you need extra tutorials, you will not be performing. You will be expected to concentrate on your studies.

  18. Football Dances -Not every performing member is guaranteed a position for the halftime performance -They are expected to still attend the games, however they may not dance during halftime

  19. Competition Season -Contest -Dreamscape Kick and Lyrical

  20. Competition Season -Escorts compete in 3 – 5 Contests per year -Every other year we compete in state or out of state (This can change year to year) -An Escort may be placed in 1 – 10 dances, depending on additional tryouts

  21. Spring Show

  22. Spring Show • Variety Show hosted by the Escorts to showcase the dances performed during contest, with additional dances added • Currently takes place the first weekend in May

  23. Extra Events -Yea for some fun!!

  24. Social Events • Bob and Sue Picnic • Mother / Daughter Tea • Holiday Parties • Banquet • Senior Recognition Tea

As Follows: • If your daughter makes the team for the 2011 – 2012 school year, there is a MANDATORY MEETING Monday, April 11 at 7:00 in the Teaching Theater • Spring Show practices TBA for New Girls • Spring Show Friday and Saturday, May 6 – 7; 7:00 PM • New – New Camp Thursdays 4:00 – 5:30 (North Campus) April 7, April 14, May 5, May 12, May 19, May 26 • Booster Club Meeting and Supply Order Monday, May 23 (50 % Camp Deposit and 50% Supply Fee Due)
