Business Club: FBLA • Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda is a nonprofit education association of students preparing for careers in business and business-related fields. • The FBLA-PBL Mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs. • The FBLA chapter at Briar Woods implements professional, community service, and fundraising activities that prepare students for competition at a local, regional, and national level. • http://www.fbla-pbl.org

  8. Business: Apple Federal Credit Union • Falcon Branch is a Student-Run Credit Union of Apple Federal Credit Union. It in an actual branch that is run entirely by students. Apple Federal Credit Union is a full-service credit union headquartered in Fairfax, VA, that serves educators, students, and their families. • Students taking Accounting and Advanced Accounting have an opportunity to work at the Briar Woods Branch. Business Industry Certifications: • Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) is the credential required by academia and business, recognized globally as the premier credential chosen by individuals seeking to validate their knowledge, skills and abilities relating to the Microsoft Office applications. • Students taking Computer Information Systems will have the opportunity to obtain the following certifications during the course: • MOS Word • MOS Excel • MOS PowerPoint • MOS Access • http://www.certiport.com

Marketing Club: DECA • DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. • DECA members become: • academically prepared for college and careers in marketing, finance, hospitality or management • community oriented by gaining an appreciation for the benefits of service and their potential impact on the community and world • professionally responsible with ethics, integrity and high standards • experienced leaders by practicing key leadership skills such as goal setting, consensus building and project management.

Marketing Industry Certification • National Professional Certification in Customer Service • This certification was designed to capture the core customer service duties for a broad range of entry-level through first-line supervisory positions across the sales and service industries. • The credential is appropriate for anyone interested in obtaining a job or pursuing a career in retail and other industries that value customer service skills.

  22. Tech Ed • Provides experiences that lead to the development of technologically literate people. At the elementary school level, students are introduced to technology and begin learning to use it in the classroom. Technology Student Association • TSA: Prepares students with leadership opportunities in technology, innovation, design, and engineering. • TSA students: • Apply and integrate science, technology, engineering and math concepts. • Gain leadership and problem solving skills that can be used in college and the work force. • Compete in Regional, State, and National competitions • Video Game Design • Robotics and Automation • Engineering Design • System Control

  25. Tech Ed Industry Certification • Autodesk Certified User Exam • Upon completion of CADD II students can take one of two certifications. • Autodesk AutoCAD User Certification • Autodesk Inventor User Certification
