Development of composite material with textile and rubber. Development of technology for cold & hot splicing, method for testing and validation of rubber dam. WHAT IS RUBBER DAM? WHY RUBBER DAM ? Rubber dams are textile reinforced rubber composites in tubular shape, which can be inflated or deflated by water or air. Better water management of flood and draught Increase per capita water storage of rain water. FIRST INDIGENIZED MODEL RUBBER DAM PROTOTYPE (MRDP) DEVELOPED AT IRMRA INFLATION AND DEFLATION PHENOMENON OF RUBBER DAM PROTOTYPE DAM FOR ON-LINE EVALUATION ADVANTAGES OBJECTIVES • Easy installation • Lower investment cost • Reduction of soil erosion • Ground re-charging • To undertake design & development of rubber composites and process for making rubber dams. • To design and develop different components of rubber dam. • To develop and validate rubber dams.
