What is Da’ Wah how is it achieved and when is it effective?Group Presentation:Demonstrate the role of Da’ Wah within the personal culture of Muslims: as given in the Sira of our Habib PBOH. Demonstrate the process of Da’ Wah within non-Muslim culture: as given in the Sira of our Habib PBOH.

Who is better in speech than one who calls (human beings) to Allah, works righteousness, and says "I am of those who bow in Islam"? (33)

  4. I Calling people to Islam in Secrecyبِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِيَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلۡمُدَّثِّرُ (١) قُمۡ فَأَنذِرۡ (٢) وَرَبَّكَ فَكَبِّرۡ (٣) وَثِيَابَكَ فَطَهِّرۡ (٤) وَٱلرُّجۡزَ فَٱهۡجُرۡ (٥)O thou wrapped up (in a mantle)! (1) Arise and deliver thy warning! (2) And thy Lord do thou magnify! (3) And thy garments keep free from stain! (4) And all abomination shun! (5)

  5. Faith requires the kind of focus that suggests all things that are not Allah are now “smaller” than Allah and now are also “less important” than Allah. The life of a Caller to Allah الداعي is restless and full of self-sacrifice. It also requires an assumed standard of “personal purity,” Callers to Allah’s Way must be clean on the inside and the outside طهارة! Spiritual and mental impurities must now be cast aside in order to effectively represent the sentiments of Allah to the public. This requires complete migration or Hijrah هجرة.

  6. She was the first to learn Salat from the Habib and to perform it with him PBOH. Her house was the first structure in which the words of the Holy Quran were ever recited. She learned the oneness of Allah and Salat from our Habib PBOH. Jibriel appeared before the Habib PBOH to teach him ablution and Prayer. Upon learning these rituals, he returned home and showed the Lady Khadijah how to perform them.

  7. The Calling continued and the next to accept Islam was the Habib’s cousin Ali MAP. Ali علي بن أبي طالب accepted Islam at the age of 10 [Imam(s) At-Tabary and Ibn Ishaq]. Ali MAP was raised within the Habib’s Household Ali was the third person to perform Salat in the history of Islam.

  8. Along with Ali of the boys, accepting Islam was Zaid Ibn Haritha Zaid MAP was the male-servant of the Habib PBOH. All of the Habib’s daughters accepted Islam: Zaynab زينب, Umm Kalthum أم كلثوم, Fatima فاطمة, and Ruqayyah رقية.

  9. This constituted Islam’s First Household, the First Family of Islam. This is why we hold the Habib’s household in the highest esteem. We learn the great lessons that protect family by studying and researching the dynamics and dimensions of his Household PBOH. After the Cave of Hira, the Household became the center of recitation of the Holy Quran.

  10. The Household became the center for standing upon the principles of Salat. The Household is where the human roots of Islam took root and spread throughout the world. In one way or another, we all trace our origins as Muslims back to the work of the Household. The Household is the first institution “in-support” of Islam

  11. Where the goal of Islam for human living is righteousness; it manifests first within the human individual and then within the human family-unit. Then the greater goal of building a righteous human society can be obtained. The righteous individual is the cornerstone of human-living and the family is the foundation upon which all of society is then built!

  12. The Islam of Abu Bakr the Truthful “Everyone I Called to Islam hesitated somewhat before accepting it except Abu Bakr. He wasn’t slow to accept Islam nor did he hesitate in accepting Islam: he accepted Islam immediately.”

  13. To follow these was the Islam of others who were called by Abu Bakr:Uthman Ibn Affan عثمان بن عفانAbdur-Rahman Ibn A’uf عبد الرحمن بن عوفSa’d Ibn Aby Waqqas’ سعد بن أبي وقاصAz Zubayr Ibnul A’wwam الزبير بن العوامTalh’ah Ibn U’ Baydil Laah طلحة بن عبيد اللهAbu Bakr MAP brought each of these companions to our Habib PBOH and they accepted Islam. When we look at the history of their contributions to Islam, it becomes clear just how instrumental Abu Bakr was as supporter of our Habib PBOH.

  14. These first historical figures of Islam became known as the Founding Generation of Islam الرعيل الأول. The Lady Khadijah MAPAli MAPZaid Ibn Haritha MAPAbu Bakr MAPUthman Ibn Affan MAPAbdur-Rahman Ibn A’uf MAPSa’d Ibn Aby Waqqas’ MAPAz Zubayr Ibnul A’wwam MAPTalh’ah Ibn U’ Baydil Laah MAPThey are also referred to as the First Group to Pass السابقون الأولون.

Verse (9:100) - (sūrat l-tawbah):Sahih International: And the first forerunners [in the faith] among the Muhajireen and the Ansar and those who followed them with good conduct - Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him, and He has prepared for them gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever. That is the great attainment.

  20. Islam’s Secret Center for Gathering and Learning: The House of Al-Arqam Ibn Abyl Arqam Al- Mekhzumy In this house, the Muslims gathered for the Calling. Here it was where they would meet the Habib PBOH and hear new revelations from the Holy Quran. There, our Habib PBOH would remind them of Allah يذكرهم بالله and recite Quran in Tejweed to them يتلو عليهم القران. In this environment, the companions were able to present their personal concerns or questions before the Habib PBOH who would triage them accordingly. It was in this House that our Habib PBOH developed an unshakeable love for this generation of pioneering Muslims.

  21. Making the Call to Allah Public Part 1A And admonish thy nearest kinsmen― (214) And lower thy wing to the Believers who follow thee. (215)

  22. “My people of Quraysh, if I were to inform you that there was an army behind this mountain waiting to attack you, would you believe me? They said, yes, we have always known you to be truthful. He said: Then I stand here today warn you against a severe punishment for all who engage in false worship.” Abu Lahab yelled out: May you be cursed for the rest of the day, this is why you assembled us.

  23. Making the Call to Allah Public Part 1B

  24. The Public Calling to Allah introduced a new phenomenon: Suffrage and Trial الابتلاء. It is He who hath made you (His) agents, inheritors of the earth: He hath raised you in ranks some above others: that he may try you in the gifts He hath given you: for thy Lord is quick in punishment: yet He is indeed Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (165)

رواه مسلم“Whenever a Believer is inflicted by any means of pain for the sake of Allah, be it a prick from a thorn or something more severe: Allah will Raise them in ranks or do away with sinful mistakes they have committed.” Muslim No. 2572

  26. We see this deep-rooted commitment to serving Islam at all costs in the words of our Habib PBOH with his uncle shared by Imam Ibn Ishaq:"يا عم لو وضعت الشمس في يميني و القمر في يساري ما تركت الأمر حتى يظهره الله أو أهلك في طلبه."“My uncle, were they to put the sun in my right hand and the moon in my left: I would never abandon this Commandment. I will see things through to the very end until either Allah Gives victory to it or until I die serving Allah and pursuing victory for Islam.”And then Abu Talib gives us a gem of a response:امض على أمرك و افعل ما أحببت“Remain steadfast within what you have been Commanded and do what you love!”
