  1. Cherishing Every Moment Jasmine Smith White 1

  2. “I believe in cherishing every moment in life because they all have a purpose. Some may break you down or even make you stronger, but in all it makes you who you are today. Even if it’s the little things or the big things, every situation has a big impact on you and the people surrounding you.”

  3. “When I moved from Georgia to Kansas I was devastated. I left a great relationship, a lot of friends, and a supportive family. I never appreciated what I had until it was all forced away from me. I love the military, but I don’t love the lifestyle. It’s hard to look back and have regrets. Soon, I hope to become more accepting of my past situations and be grateful of them.”

  4. “I didn’t have the best school experiences in elementary and middle school. I was bullied for being different and I wasn’t very sociable. I had the worst experience in middle school. I became extremely depressed and also distant from anyone who tried to get closer to me. I trusted no one and my grades gradually started to drop. Now that I am a junior in high school I cherish those obstacles I once thought would be the end of me. They have made me a strong person who now tries to help others. That’s the main reason I look forward to being a psychologist when I graduate from college.”

  5. “You learn from your mistakes and that is the best part about life. That means that I don’t have to make constant mistakes and never learn right from wrong. Being appreciative of the good times AND the bad times is definitely a struggle, but I always think of it this way: Would I rather be miserable and regretful or happy and knowledgeable?”

  6. “When I would have problems I always went to my grandmother for advice. She was a Christian woman and she was very wise. She never told me what to do but instead she would give me her response and allow me to make my own opinion. In result, I would make responsible decisions and feel like I took care of my own problems. I cherish the life lessons from her and others as well. I think it’s amazing how people I have never even met have changed my perspective on life’s problems. I am excited about learning more about myself and the world as I grow up and hopefully someone will cherish and admire me as their role model.”

  7. I mostly cherish my junior year in Junction City, Kansas. I met a lot of great people and I will never forget them. It’s the little things I will miss about the place, the school, and the people. I could have done a lot of things differently, but I am proud of my experiences here. I will forever appreciate everything that I have learned or been exposed to in life. You never know when it all will come to an end.
