  1. Orthodontist By ZendyMontalvo

  2. I am an othodontist helping a patient that I diagnosed with an overbite. My patient wants to know what cause the malocclusion and what are the benefits of fixing the malocclusion. I will also explain to the patient step by step what I’m going to do to align her bite. • I chose to do orthodontics because it interests me and iveaccually gone through the same situation so im familiar with my topic.

  3. What is Malocclusions ? • Malocclusion is where the bite is not aligned. There might be problems with talking, chewing, biting, and swallowing food. • There are different kinds of malocclusions: • -Overbite • -Overjet • -Underbite • -Crossbite • -Openbite • -Crowding SOURCES?????

  4. Here you can explain (briefly) about the different types of malocclusions. • Try to find a picture of each one of them so you can talk about it. Try using pictures instead of words in the powerpoint. • Why? Usually people get too distracted when they are reading words on a powerpoint? You lose their attention from what you are speaking. • If you use pictures they are paying attention to you • DON’t FORGET YOUR SOURCES.

  5. Overbite • Overbite is where the upper front bite is too far down. The lower front teeth might bite into the sensitive tissue. Lips are not properly fit. • It can be developed by a child who sucks on his or her thumb. • It can also be inherited. Passed on genetically from parents to the child. SOURCE???????

  6. NEXT STEPS • Why should I be concerned if I have an overbite? • Once again try to use pictures to show it..of course if you can..otherwise write it down.

  7. NEXT STEP part 2? • ZENDY, • This is what I suggest: • Put a nice background to your powerpoint • Add some pictures that support the points you are trying to explain to people.

  8. NEXT STEP PART TRES • WHAT IS THE SOLUTION? • HOW IS THE SOLUTION GOING TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM? • WHY DO RETAINERS WORK? • WHAT DO THEY DO TO THE JAW? HOW DO THEY DO IT?

  9. CONCLUSIONS? • WHAT IS YOUR CONCLUSION AFTER YOU RESOLVED THE CASE STUDY?

  10. NEXT STEPS • IF YOU COULD CONTINUE WITH YOUR CASE STUDY…WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE NEXT STEP? WHAT OTHER QUESTIONS WOULD YOU TRY TO ANSWERS?
