  2. The penguins’ wings act like paddles to drive them through the water fast.

  3. Emperor and King penguins don’t build nests, but they just carry their eggs on their feet to keep the chicks from freezing.

  4. The penguin can swim up to 15 miles per hour and that’s about 4 times faster than a human, because they have to escape from predators.

  5. Penguins have strong wing muscles to swim away from predators much faster.

  6. The white belly on a penguin helps it blend in with the light shining on the water so predators can’t catch itas easily.

  7. Penguins have many layers of skin to keep them warm in cold weather. This is called insulation.
