  3. You can only be a True Christian if Christ is in you, which can be tested and proven according to the scriptures.

  4. Test Yourself : I2Cor 13:5 examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves.

  5. TEST 1:Gospel Belief and Confession of Faith 1Cor 15:1-4 Brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, the gospel that you have received and in which you are firmly established; because the gospel will save you only if you keep believing exactly what I preached to you--believing anything else will not lead to anything. I taught you... that  Christ died for our sins, that he was buried; and he was raised to life on the third day, in accordance with the scriptures.

  6. What Orthodox Christians Believe ? GOD THE FATHER • is the fountainhead of the Holy Trinity. • The Scriptures reveal that the one God is Three Persons--Father, Son and Holy Spirit--eternally sharing the one divine nature. • From the Father the Son is begotten before all ages and all time (Psalm 2:7; 2 Corinthians 11:31). • It is also from the Father that the Holy Spirit eternally proceeds (John 15:26). • Through Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Spirit, we come to know the Father (Matthew 11:27). • God the Father created all things through the Son, in the Holy Spirit (Genesis 1; 2; John 1:3; Job 33:4), and we are called to worship Him (John 4:23). • The Father loves us and sent His Son to give us everlasting life (John 3:16).

  7. JESUS CHRISTis the Second Person of the Trinity, eternally born of the Father. He became a man, and thus He is fully God and fully man. In reciting the Nicene Creed, Orthodox Christians regularly affirm the historic faith,"I believe...in one Lord Jesus Christ, begotten of the Father before all ages, Light of Light, Very God of Very God, begotten, not made, of one essence with the Father, by whom all things were made, who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven, and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again from the dead, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead, whose Kingdom shall have no end."

  8. THE HOLY SPIRITis one of the Persons of the Trinity and is one in essence with the Father. Orthodox Christians repeatedly confess, "And I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of life, who proceeds from the Father, who together with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified. . ." Orthodox Christians believe the biblical promise that theHoly Spirit is given in chrismation (anointing) at baptism (Acts 2:38). We are to grow in our experience of the Holy Spirit for the rest of our lives.

  9. Rev 3:3a"Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; obey it, and repent."

  10. TEST 2 • Born Again / The Inner Witness / Correction as Children • Born in Water and Spirit • Baptism & Mooron • To be baptizedmeans to be born again by being joined into union with Christ.

  11. Am I a born again Christian?Yes… I am a Born Again Christian!!!BAPTISMis the way in which a person is actually united to Christ. The experience of salvation is initiated in the waters of baptism. The Apostle Paul teaches in Romans 6:1-6 that in baptism we experience Christ's death and Resurrection. In Baptism our sins are truly forgiven and we are energized by our union with Christ to live a holy life.

  12. John 3:3-7 Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again... Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again.' : Baptism

  13. NEW BIRTH is receiving new life and is the way we gain entrance into God's Kingdom and His Church. Jesus said, "Unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God" (John 3:5).From the beginning, the Orthodox Church has taught that the "water" is the baptismal water and the "Spirit" is the Holy Spirit. The New Birth occurs in baptism, where we die with Christ, are buried with Him, and are raised with Him in the newness of His Resurrection, being joined into union with Him in His glorified humanity (Romans 6:3,4).

  14. Gal 4:6 Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba, Father.“Our Father who art in heaven..

  15. Test 3 Am I follows the 10 commandments ?

  16. TEST 4 • Repentance • Freedom from Habitual Sin • Holy Confession • Holy Communion

  17. SIN=“To miss the mark” • "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). • In His mercy, God forgives our sinswhen we confess them and turn from them. • "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).

  18. To Repent To change our mind about how we have been, Turning from our sin & Committing ourselves to Jesus Christ.

  19. TEST 5 Produce The Fruit of the Spirit Mat 3:7 "...Produce fruit in keeping with repentance."

  20. Mat 7:16-23 [Jesus:] "By their fruit you will recognize them. Every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'"

  21. Gal 5:22-23The fruits of the Spirit are Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness &Self-control.

  22. John 13:35 "By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.“We should maintain purity and holiness in the Church

  23. Salvation Is a Divine gift through which men and women are delivered from sin and death, united to Christ, and brought into His eternal Kingdom. SANCTIFICATION is being set apart for God
