  1. Strategies for Cheese Procurement

  2. MDS Foodservice • We approach the foodservice side of the cheese business from from three perspectives: Performance, Value and Cost Management. Unlike the retail business the end user never sees our name. All of our resources go towards providing you with the best products to grow your business, not into building our brand. • Performance means getting everything right; from the flavor and appearance of the cheese itself to on-time deliveries in-full to your distribution centers. • A great many items we provide for our customers are commodities in the truest sense of the word, and often times fractions of a cent are all that separate two suppliers on a spreadsheet. At MDS Foods we collaborate with your procurement team to find additional sources of savings or added features and benefits that can add value to your purchasing decision. • Managing costs is an active and ongoing process. Rarely are the best opportunities available on the day you have a chance to look. We look everyday so you don’t have to and offer a number of tools to manage market variability.

  3. Our Brands • Madison Valley brand products are time and labor saving products for the back of the house. We have shredded, sliced and cubes cheese products in a wide variety of cheese types for restaurant, supermarket and commissary • Amish Classics brand products can be found in retail and foodservice operations across the country. Amish Classics brand features award winning bulk cheeses for the deli case and in-store slicing and retail size slices and chunks for self service deli case sales. • The Santino brand is found on our Mediterranean-style cheeses like our World Champion provolone made with natural lipase, shredded parmesan, grated romano and crumbled feta and blue cheeses.

  4. Collaboration • On Maximizing Performance • We will work with your culinary department to make sure we have the right products for you • If necessary we will write a custom specification for your products to make sure you have the flavor, color, age, portion control, aroma and melt that you desire • Integration with your existing distribution channels, competitively and efficiently

  5. Collaboration • On Unlocking Value • Value is not only providing a competitive price, but improving yields and reducing distribution costs. • We can help ad value by sourcing a better than typical product or unique flavor that you can offer to your guests. • Value is something that should show up positively on your bottom line.

  6. Collaboration • On Total Cost Management • We will work work openly and transparently when it comes to cost management. • Our interests and yours are perfectly aligned when it comes getting the best market prices. • Variety of Strategies • Fixed prices up to 18 months into the future • Minimum/Maximum price structures • No-Higher-Than price structure
