  3. Warwickshire College Context • 1100 HE students; 60% FT • 6 centres across 2 counties • 5 HEI awarding bodies + Edexcel • HNC, HND, DipHE, Fd, Hons • Land-based, engineering, business & IT, health/care, spa/hair/beauty, art/design, sport

  4. Why FDAP? • Is the college clear on why FDAP is wanted? • What are the benefits? Will there be drawbacks? • Is your student body supportive? • Are your partners supportive?

  5. The Application • A self-assessment of readiness for FDAP • Internal self-assessment as a preparatory exercise before the formal application is written • Who will write/lead on the application?

  6. Organising Staff and Students • Student briefings - how? • Staff briefings - how? It is easier to brief and have academic staff ‘on-board’. • What about support staff whose main focus is FE? • Senior management fully on board? – this should be a given! • Don’t forget governors!

  7. Facilities for Scrutiny • Is a Base Room practical? • Can assessors have electronic access to base room materials? • Remote access? • Up to date calendar is essential including dates for WBPL visits

  8. Surprises • First meeting • Focus on Fd students and courses • Assessors’ limited time in College • Staffing workbook
