  2. Chartered Financial Analyst The Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) credential has become the most respected and recognized investment designation in the world. Today there are more than 100,000 charterholders in 139 countries and territories – representing the highest professional standards and competencies in the global investment community.   3. Becoming a CFA When you become a CFA charterholder, you simultaneously demonstrate your expertise and signify your commitment to a high standard of professional ethics. To earn a CFA charter, you must: Complete the CFA Program Pledge to adhere to the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct Have four years of qualified investment work experience Evaluating or applying financial, economic, and/or statistical data as part of the investment decision-making process involving securities or similar investments (e.g., publicly traded and privately placed stocks, bonds, and mortgages and their derivatives; commodity-based derivatives and mutual funds; and other investment assets, such as real estate and commodities, if these are held as part of a diversified, securities-oriented investment portfolio). Supervising, directly or indirectly, persons who practice these activities. Teaching such activities. Become a regular member of CFA Institute and apply for membership to a local CFA member society.
  4. CFA Program CFA - The CFA® Program bridges industry practice, investment theory, and ethical and professional standards to provide investment analysis and portfolio management skills. The CFA Program is organized into three levels, each culminating in a six-hour exam.   6. CFA Program: Exams The CFA Program is organized into three levels, each culminating in a six-hour exam. The program curriculum progresses in complexity as you move through the three levels: Level I: Focuses on a basic knowledge of investment tools, along with some analysis Level II: Further emphasizes analysis along with application of investment tools and concepts Level III: Focuses on synthesizing all of the concepts and analytical methods in a variety of applications for effective portfolio management and wealth planning Candidates report dedicating in excess of 300 hours of study per level to prepare for each exam
  7. CFA Registration To enroll in the CFA Program and register for your first exam:1. Meet the entrance requirements: Havea bachelor's (or equivalent) degree or be in the final year of your bachelor's degree program at the time of registration* or have four years of professional work experience (does not have to be investment related) or have a combination of professional work and college experience that totals at least four years. Part-time positions do not qualify, and the four-year total must be accrued prior to enrollment. Be sure you understand the Professional Conduct Statement and Candidate Responsibility Statement. Be prepared to take the exams in English. Have a valid international travel passport (required for exam registration and admission to the test center). Read the ID policy.

CFA Scholarships Access Scholarships Access Scholarships provide needs-based scholarship opportunities for those unable to afford the full price of the CFA Program enrollment and registration fees. AwardWaive the CFA Program enrollment fee and reduce the exam registration fee (includes access to the curriculum eBook) to US$250.* Award CycleAccess scholarships are awarded in December to be applied to exams in the following year. If awarded, the recipient can apply the scholarship to the June exam (Levels I, II, and III) or December exam (Level I only) Important DatesScholarship application for 2015 exams: Available 1 March 2014.
