Desire lines:- Tracks that have evolved by riding/walking on the open forest floor/moor/field, with no effort to improve by construction or vegetation management. Desire lines may still need a one off decision if they are detrimental to our management needs and respond according to risk. Brief Overview – we have time to discuss!!!! • Adopt and inspect - monitored as a formal recreation facility OGB 42 • Intervene and make safe - examine standards and make changes, employ site rules • Tolerate and monitor – where others are not at risk • Closure and removal – risks are too great and trail will need to be de – commissioned – thought needed on approach.
