Harmony. The Basics. Harmony occurs when there is more than one tone or pitch. Harmony occurs when there is more than one note sounding at a time. Harmonies can be pleasing. Or Harmony can have a “clashing” quality. Implied harmony. A melody (monophony) can have an implied harmony.
