  2. The Sistine Chapel • The Sistine Chapel is within the Apostolic Palace (where the Pope lives), in Vatican City. • The Sistine Chapel is covered with frescos by Michelangelo.

  3. The Trevi Fountain • The Trevi Fountain is an acqueduct constructed by Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa around 19 b.c

  4. Vatican City • Vatican City lies within the city of Rome and beside the Tiber River. • The Pope governs the small country and takes on all responsibility of the legal, executive and judicial branches of government.

  5. Roman Colosseum As a gift to the Roman people, Emperor Vespasian of the Flavian dynasty commissioned the construction of the amphitheeater. Vespasian’s son, Titus opened the Colosseum with 100 day games, including gladiator fights and wild animal fights.
