  2. St. George ribbon-two-color ribbon of the order of St. George, • “For Victory over Germany” or • as it is called “Guards tape” • St. George ribbon got its name from the order of St. George. This order was established in Russia in 1769. It's called by the name of St. George, the patron of the Russian army

  3. Saint George The Christian Saint Martyr is the most revered Saint of the name. He was beheaded during the reign of the Emperor Diocletian, after the eight-day severe torment in the year 303

  4. Military Award • The Holy Great Martyr George was very much loved and revered in Russia. So the most honorary military award was given his name. Only officers and generals were awarded this order for personal military services.

  5. St. George banner In 1806 rewards St. George's banners were introduced in the Russian army. The cross of St. George was placed on the top of the banner, and under it the black-and-gold St. George ribbon of one inch (at 4.44 cm) was tied. After 1878it was called the narrow George's ribbon, or simply George's ribbon that was part of the St. George banners.
