  1. Fresh Hope A Study in Ezekiel 36 & 37 Ezekiel 37:4-7

  2. Fresh Hope Rom 5 3 We also have joy with our troubles, because we know that these troubles produce patience. 4 And patience produces character, & character produces hope. 5 And this hope will never disappoint us, because God has poured out his love to fill our hearts. He gave us his love through the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to us. NCV

  3. Fresh Hope Hope: the confident expectation & anticipation of good, improvement or a positive end result to a desire.

  4. 1) Fresh Hope is Built On God’s Word- Eze 37:4-7 4 Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones & say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! 5 Thus says the Lord God to these bones: “Surely I will cause breath to enter into you & you shall live.

  5. 1) Fresh Hope is Built On God’s Word- Eze 37:4-7 6 I will put sinews on you & bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin & put breath in you; & you shall live. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.”

  6. 1) Fresh Hope is Built On God’s Word- Eze 37:4-7 7 So I prophesied as I was commanded & as I prophesied, there was a noise & suddenly a rattling; & the bones came together, bone to bone

  7. The truth of any situation, what is & what can be, flows from God’s word. Hope is found not by our perception of what is possible, but in God’s.

  8. This Book is the mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation… It contains light to direct you, food to support you, and comfort to cheer you. It is the travelers map, the pilgrims staff, the pilots compass, the soldiers sword, and the Christians character.

  9. Here paradise is restored, Heaven opened, and the gates of hell disclosed. Christ is its grand object, our good is its design, and the glory of God its end. It should fill the memory, rule the heart, and guide the feet.

  10. a) God’s Word brings hope when it is heard 4 Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones & say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! 5 Thus says the Lord God to these bones:

  11. Listening to God’s Word is more profitable than listening to the latest opinion. Opinion would have given up on the dry bones, but God still speaks to them.

  12. Luke 11 28 But He said, "More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!"

  13. b) God’s Word brings hope as it focuses us on the future 5 Thus says the Lord God to these bones: “Surely I will cause breath to enter into you & you shall live.

  14. b) God’s Word brings hope as it focuses us on the future 6 I will put sinews on you & bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin & put breath in you; & you shall live. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.”

  15. God does not remind the bones of where they have been or what condition they are in, He speaks to them about what will come and the good He will do.

  16. Jer 29 10 For thus says the Lord: After seventy years are completed at Babylon, I will visit you & perform My good word toward you, & cause you to return to this place.

  17. Jer 29 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace & not of evil, to give you a future & a hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me & go & pray to Me, & I will listen to you.

  18. c) God’s Word brings hope as we see it work 7 So I prophesied as I was commanded & as I prophesied, there was a noise & suddenly a rattling; & the bones came together, bone to bone.

  19. God’s truth is not merely to be studied, but experienced.

  20. John 14 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, & the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.

  21. John 14 11 Believe Me that I am in the Father & the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.

  22. What is my hope built on? Am I trusting in my ideas for what is possible or in God’s Word?
