  2. Diamante Poems • Definition: • a seven line poem that is in the shape of a diamond

  3. Diamante Poems • Set up: • Each line of the poem is written in a specific way • The order of the lines always stays the same • We are going to adapt this poem to show a cause & effect relationship.

  4. Diamante Poems • Set up: • Line One: • Topic of Poem (the cause) *When you brainstorm the topic, think of an event that was major and had a significant effect.

  5. Diamante Poems • Set up: • Line Two: • Two adjectives about the cause *What are adjectives? Write an example in your notes.

  6. Diamante Poems • Set up: • Line Three: • Three –ing words about the cause Write an example of an –ing word in your notes.
