Strategies Relevant to Higher Education Strategic Plan • Every qualified high school graduate should get his/her desired place/seat in higher education in order to be part of the knowledge age. • Expand private education as a strategic option and it should reach 50% of enrollment by 2030. • Twin and create partnership with international universities. • Use multiple student finance schemes including vouchers , coupons, loans, partial support, etc.

  4. Strategies Relevant to Higher Education Strategic Plan • Establishment of a National Accrediting bodies for all types of education. These should be independent of the ministries under which higher education institutes are functioning . • Quality should be the main feature of high education in Saudi Arabia. It should be ensured through: • Qualified faculty and staff • Current, up to date, relevant and internationally accredited programs. • Up to date infrastructure • Effective and lean processes. • Predictive and fair admission standards

Strategies Relevant to Higher Education Strategic Plan • High education should be responsive to market requirements and societal needs through flexible polices that include: • Availing market information • Incentives • Budget control • Tie licensing and accreditation to market and societal needs.

This project collect data, indicators and monitor progress towards matching and meeting market and societal needs. This is a step towards creating a system that manages supply and demand. • Council for partnership between supply and demand sectors.

Strategies Relevant to Higher Education Strategic Plan • National ministerial committee for effective coordination on matching higher education with the job market and societal needs. • Tie government budget allocation with quality of output performance and relevance to market and societal needs. • Tie curriculum with economic development within region and nation wide.   8. Relevant strategies • Develop competency for success in college. Higher Education should require students to have them prior to enrollment. • Structure general education 10k and 2 years preparation for college. Or divide the high school into two parts general and specialized that leads to universities. • New process for admission that centralize the application process, provides universities the independence in admission decisions and ensures fairness.

Relevant Strategies • Control acceptance to high school to be 50% of those in Intermediate Education and direct the rest to technical, technological and crafts education. • Internationalize student bodythrough scholarship, exchange programs and opening the education system for non-Saudis to study with fees. • Mobilize the private sector to support scholarships ( Saudi or non-Saudi)
