  6. PREVENTION INITIATIVES:ARRA/CPPW • Four Core Objectives: • Increase levels of physical activity • Decrease obesity rates • Improve nutrition • Tobacco cessation and decreased second hand smoke exposure • Requires Measurable Health Outcomes • ACA/Community Transformation Grants

  7. HHS Tobacco Control Strategic Action Plan • Departmental strategic action plan to enhance tobacco prevention and control efforts. • Support FDA’s newly-acquired role to regulate tobacco. • National movement of smoke-free states: 23 states and District of Columbia now have a smoke-free law.
