  2. iPod Touch Your iPod Touch is a- • Portable Media Player • A Wireless Networking Device • Email Access Point • Audio and Video Playback Machine

  3. Buttons and Ports • Back of iTouch contains serial number and capacity • Power switch on top • Computer connection port and headphone on bottom • Volume control on right side

  4. Basic Features • Flash memory (32 or 64 GB for the iPod touch) • WiFi capabilities (802.11b/g) • Safari Web browser • Audio and photo storage and playback • Video • Calendar and contacts that synch with your computer

  5. Basic Features • Clock and calculator applications • Access to the iTunes Music Store via WiFi • More than 140,000 apps you can install from the App Store via WiFi or a wired computer connection • Dock and headphone connections • Accelerometer (allows the device to be viewed sideways or shaken for games)

  6. Basic Operation • Touch home button to turn iTouch on • Navigate with the touch sensitive screen • Scroll by sliding finger up, down, or side to side to move through different views

  7. Calculator • Portrait mode-simple calculations • Landscape mode-scientific calculator

  8. Wallpaper • Tap “Settings” • Tap “Wallpaper” • Choosing “Wallpaper” again will show you the photos for wallpaper that came with you iPod • Choosing “Photo Library” will let you choose a photo that you have added to your library • Choose the photo you want and tap “Set”

  9. Music and Video • Songs and music videos from your iTunes library • Buy and download new music over Wi-Fi • Download movies, TV shows, music videos • Audiobooks

  10. Photos • Storage for 90,000 photos • Scroll through photos • Play slideshows complete with music and transitions • Email a photo • Share photos through MobileMe Gallery (MobileMe is a purchased “over air” sync for your email, contacts, photos, storage, etc)

  11. Internet and email • Built-in wireless access to the web • Wi-Fi access any website • iPod touch syncs your bookmarks from your PC or Mac • Google and Yahoo! search built in • Access your email by setting up accounts on youriTouch or through web mail

  12. Notes • Use Notes on iPod touch to write yourself a quick note • Keep important information on hand • Built-in email function lets you send notes to yourself or others

  13. Calendar • Calendar works with Yahoo!, Google, Microsoft Outlook, iCal, MobileMe, and Microsoft Exchange • Add events from you iTouch • Set reminder alerts • Subscribe to calendars

  14. Weather • Check weather worldwide • Add cities to get six-day forecasts • Tap the Y! (bottom left corner) to open a Yahoo! city guide • Y! shows weather, local events, news, and links for your specific city

  15. Stocks • Shows performance information for any stock • Details on chosen stock by tapping the Y! • Show you previous closing, open, day’s range, and 52 week range • Local headlines concerning chosen stock

  16. Maps of the iPod Touch • Find yourself and what is around you • through “Search” • Map directions • Change your view-zoom in, out, or • satellite view • Check traffic ahead • For maps to work you must have wi-fi • available
