  1. SPIE Thermosense 2008 Paper #6939-18 The Fusion of Optic’s Solar Blind Ultraviolet overlaid on Color Visible Wavelength’s or Long Wave Infrared Copyright 2008 Ox Creek Energy Associates Inc.

  2. MultiCAM – LW Infrared – Daylight Corona – Color Visible Note: Development of the Multi-Spectral camera by CSIR in Pretoria, South Africa was in cooperation with ESKOM, the utility in South Africa. The development began in 1997 with a Daylight Corona Camera, and evolved in 2000 with the addition of infrared to the camera scope. The first MultiCAM was in use in 2005 in South Africa. 3. MultiCAM – LW Infrared – Daylight Corona – Color Visible Note: The daylight corona images overlaid onto color visible images highlight the problem areas and illustrate the opportunities to develop an imager that defines the damage to the insulator. The center image shows corona (white dots) at the metal end fittings on the polymer insulators. The right image shows adding corona rings stops the corona by decreasing the electrical field intensity. Copyright 2008 Ox Creek Energy Associates Inc.

  4. MultiCAM – LW Infrared – Daylight Corona – Color Visible Note: The color of the corona is menu selectable to contrast with the background. GPS coordinates are included on image or the video output. Copyright 2008 Ox Creek Energy Associates Inc.

  5. MultiCAM – LW Infrared – Daylight Corona – Color Visible Note: Visible camera zoom with concurrent ultraviolet zoom. UV display color is selectable in menu. Descriptive audio clips are stored on the on-board memory card. Copyright 2008 Ox Creek Energy Associates Inc.

  6. MultiCAM – LW Infrared – Daylight Corona – Color Visible Note: The corona (white spot on top of arrestor. Also see the bird on the wire. Inspection shows all connections are normal. Copyright 2008 Ox Creek Energy Associates Inc.

  7. MultiCAM – LW Infrared – Daylight Corona – Color Visible Note: The “see-thru” corona spot indicates where the corona is, decreasing the UV detector gain descreases the size of the “ball” to indicate the precise source of the corona. Copyright 2008 Ox Creek Energy Associates Inc.

  8. MultiCAM – LW Infrared – Daylight Corona – Color Visible Note: The top image shows corona activity on poly insulator at connection. The bottom image shows heat on poly insulator indicating damage to the insulator. Copyright 2008 Ox Creek Energy Associates Inc.

  9. MultiCAM – LW Infrared – Daylight Corona – Color Visible Note: An alternate application for this camera model is security. Copyright 2008 Ox Creek Energy Associates Inc.

  10. MultiCAM – LW Infrared – Daylight Corona – Color Visible Note: This application is aerial fire fighting. The top image shows where the fire is burning in the infrared. Both images show where the “new” fire is in the ultraviolet, decreasing the UV Gain will decrease “ball” size. Copyright 2008 Ox Creek Energy Associates Inc.
