  2. Presenter BIO and contact information. • colingwilson@gmail.com • (408) 335-0571 • Since starting working on the Oracle ERP applications in 1995 I have completed Business Analyst, Project Management and IT Management roles on implementations, upgrades and custom module development.

Prince 2 • PRINCE2 (PRojects INControlled Environments) is a process-based method for effective project management. • Project Management Framework • http://www.ogc.gov.uk/methods_prince_2.asp • Focuses on the Implementation phase of Project Management. (Conception, Feasibility, Operation and Termination not covered) • PRINCE2 allows your business to focus on doing the right projects, at the right time, for the right reasons, by making the start of a project and its continued existence dependent on a valid ongoing business case.

  5. Stage 1 – Startup (Short) • Project Brief • Project Objectives • Scope and Exclusions • Estimated Project Costs • Estimated Quantifiable Benefits • Intangible Project Benefits • Cost Benefit and ROI Estimates • Assumptions and Constraints • Approval Required to move to Initiate Stage.

  6. Project Selection Criteria • ROI (Estimated Costs and Benefits over 5 years). • Drive Revenue Growth. • Configure Company to Deliver Maximum Profitability. • Drive Excellence in Customer Satisfaction. • Maintain a Secure, Compliant and Supportable IT Infrastructure.

  7. Stage 2 - Initiate • Resources • Resources to complete the project are added to the Project Site. Resources are named employees and the % of time they will be allocated to the project is identified. • Plan • The plan is updated in MS Project, and also in the Sharepoint Milestones list which is displayed as Gantt Chart on the project site. • Approval required to move to the Delivery Stage.

Stage 3 Delivery • This is the major segment of the project, when the project is executed. • Most of the project deliverables will be completed during this phase. • Concludes with the Project Release Plan. • Project Implementation Overview • User Acceptance Status • Implementation Risks and Mitigation • Change Management and Communication • Post Implementation Support • Additional Considerations • Approval required for Go-Live and to move to close stage.
